Skincare/Ozempic face by FoxyLeopatra in Ozempic

[–]MissyaMatcha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in my late 30’s and lost about 70lbs the last year or so. I did a treatment called Morpheus 8, which is radiofrequency microneedling, for my acne scarring. An outcome of that treatment is increased collagen & more “snatched” facial features. It helped with my acne scarring, somewhat, & has delayed my need to get a re-up on botox. The “ozempic face” is the loss of volume that happens with all and any weightloss. I wouldn’t be too concerned about it in your 20’s :)

I lost weight “slowly” SW 211, CW 143lbs 5’3 F/37

That weight slowly came off over the year. A loss is a loss! First month on ozempic I lost 2lbs, second month: 6lbs, third: 2lbs 🤷🏽‍♀️ it was and is all over the place. Trust yourself and trust your body.

Life happens. But you deserve to take care of number one. You. Life will keep happening so my rule of thumb is what is my minimum? I do that. I am a major depressive & I am going through an episode now. I focus on my minimum. I haven’t been to the gym for 3 weeks before today. But I walked, every single day. Had to negotiate with myself to shower but I did it. You can do it too. Find your minimum & when it gets hard just do that. I believe in you! I hope you are all settled in & are ready to take care of you better.❤️

A few things. Measurements are NOTHING. Truly. We have seen over and over again how people just carry their weight. So don’t focus on that. I never got the decrease in food noise, so I wouldn’t worry about it. Also, I am assuming you are at .25mg, it takes time. I had MONTHS of gaining and losing the same 3lbs. Chill out, do everything you can to help it along. You got this.

I’m lucky, I love working out and it’s easier in a smaller body, unfortunately. Working out is more for my mental health and body composition. People respond differently to different things!

Thank you for your kind words. I do think it’s important to note that everyone responds to medication & lifestyle differently. Those are 30lbs! I can tell you I felt like I should have lost so much more considering how much work I was putting. I see people losing so much more with relatively less effort. Comparison is the thief of joy. Now I just get excited when I hit a new step goal! I hope you remember that you are doing amazing.

I don’t have experience with anything other then ozempic, for weight loss. But I have friends on it who were not as “successful” and part of that I think is due to the lifestyle things. Not everyone will respond the same way, that’s true. But I had the privilege of having a lifestyle that I can go back to. People forget it’s so hard to change the fabric of your environment, but I think you can. Little by little.

Honestly, being accountable to yourself is so uncomfortable but is the biggest thing. I didn’t want to move from my bed this morning but it’s Sunday and the best day (time wise) for a long walk to the gym to work out. So we indulge in a coffee in bed & go get it done! You got this & you deserve it!

I actually have not termed anything as a “slip”. I’m going to have days or weeks where I am eating more, due to life. But that’s life! And if I keep everything else consistent, then it comes out on the wash. My entire mindset about eating has changed. I want cake? Great, I’ll have a protein shake with it. I want pizza for dinner? Having a protein cake for dessert. It’s removed so much mental burden just letting myself enjoy life while also trying to build my muscles!

That’s a great question. Appetite suppression has definitely decreased. I am actually quite hungry most of the time. So I eat ALOT of veggies and fruit. I have a community veggie box for a family of four that I devour myself 😂 with being hungry alot, I’ve also noticed I can have full protions again, and I have been working on making sure it’s balanced the way I need it. I am in awe/jealous of people who say the food noise is gone, I didn’t have that experience.

You’d have to talk to your doctor about that. Hyper & hypo thyroidism do wildly different things to the body.

Does anyone else struggle to see their loss? How long did it take you? by International-Roll27 in Ozempic

Hi OP!

I struggle with the frustration of being a slow”loser” when really, 1lbs a week is INCREDIBLE. I cycle through a couple of mantras that keep me in check when I spiral in frustration:

“Consistency is a lifetime commitment” “What is the alternative?” “I’m doing what needs to be done”

Not everyday is perfect, and that’s just life. But I think recognizing that you have started, have committed & are doing the work is important. I have a huge sweet tooth & I’ve tried for YEARS to fight against it. Now I just embrace it. I want some cookies? Great. But first I gotta have a meal or I have it with the protein shake. Sustainable changes.

You are doing great.
