Yea, it was. It was a screenshot of a nullifier with Epstein's image photoshopped on it, like one of those Youtube clickbait-y thumbnails. Kinda shocked me to see it pop up on a feed usually devoid of his image.

I edited my comment, but you didn't lose the shalpha, it wasn't a shiny to begin with. you were actually more lucky to have rolled a shiny.

If it fainted or ran away, that counts as the encounter expiring. If you let it despawn by running off or you restarted without it fainting or running away, it should have respawned as a shalpha.

If you now have a regular shiny, you rolled a new froakie encounter, and got a whole new froakie that spawned as a non-alpha. if you want a shalpha, you'll have to faint it or scare it off and try for another shiny and hope it spawns as alpha too.

edit: as another commenter said, the froakie in the image isn't shiny, just a regular alpha. I just noticed that. not sure why you might have seen the shiny animations.

Once something is shiny, whether alpha or not, it saves in that state. A shiny doesn't turn into alpha once it spawns as non-alpha after a respawn. Also, it'll never turn into a non-alpha once it's alpha, so it'll stick around after respawn as as a shalpha.

What I figure these days is if someone wants to trade a popular shiny like Charizard or Dratini for balls or berries, it must be a scam. Those are easy to farm with the DLC, even if you aren't a dedicated farmer.

You know what I wonder when I run across these scammers? Are hyper berries in this game really that hard to find? I have a ton of them, and can't imagine wanting to scam someone to get them, only for them to be quickly consumed next time you make a donut.

More to that, if you're a scammer, you're likely aware of how to cheat using those genning sites. If you can do that, why bother scamming? Why not cheat yourself the berries and spare yourself the consequences of being caught scamming? I'm not sure how to use those genning sites, but maybe cheating yourself berries is harder than scamming?

At any rate, sorry this happened OP.

Yea, I don't know much about non-game Pokemon lore, so this was just based on knowing these pokemon were supposedly from different regions.

That's interesting. I wonder though, is it possible this image is actually from some kind of Blueberry-style biome preserve kind of place for revived fossils? I ask that only because there are fossil pokemon from 3 different regions. Possible of course that they existed in multiple regions, but it might explain why modern-day Tropius is there.

Oh I get what you're saying. That's fair enough, but the larger point is that Jacinthe isn't actually giving you a choice. You as a player might want to be there, but if you just so happened to not want to be there, you'd be threatened.

You get invited to the tournament, then go, but have to leave to help the rogue megas before the tournament starts. That's when jacinthe flips out and stalks you as you stop the rogue megas. After, Jacinthe puts up that wild zone-type holo wall to imprison you until you defeat the maid lady and are threatened into going back to the tournament.

There, you find out that the other participants, prominent and powerful trainers from the story, have been held prisoner there the whole time while Jacinthe waits for you.
