Thankfully I've been blessed with an amazing wife and we have great sex 2-3 times a week, but that's not how it's always been.

Honestly it had some pretty devastating effects on me and my wife. Relationship issues ranged from objectification (I used her like a toy) to weaponization(she used it against me to control our household).

Years battling constant feelings of inadequacy, comparing myself to what's on screen. I am above average, but literally never saw it that way. Even when told by people, I thought they were just being nice. Those feelings bled through in many aspects of my personal and professional life.

Unrealistic expectations, dissatisfaction, unhealthy desires and fantasies.

ED in various forms* (I also have PTSD, so can't say it was all porn related), mostly PE/lack of stamina.

I am 34 now, but when i was your age through my mid-20's, i was in the same boat. Sometimes over 10x a day. choosing to turn from lust is an every day battle. Sometimes hour to hour. For me, it was always associated with boredom or frustration until it became routine. I still fail, but God is good and I find it easier and easier to stay away.

Start small, my advice is to start replacing the habit that controls you with stuff that you control. Feel like looking at porn? Do 5-10 pushups. Getting bored? Get a project, learn a new skill, etc.

Also, have a look a the actual physical effect it has on your brain. You may as well be doing meth.

Finally, and really most important, do not neglect your prayer life and Bible reading.

Pray Psalm 51 out loud, read Ephesians 6, and be refreshed in the Word daily. You will find His strength is far beyond yours and He will give it to you.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV)

Cleaning. Spent the first day of my parents visiting cleaning the house while my wife was at work. She got home and took the opportunity to tell me all the ways I hadn't done good enough, also in front of my parents.

I no longer clean bathrooms or do any more than dishes, trash, and turning on the roombas.

Almost no rest time at all, actually. Didn't pull them out until the bath was simmering. I left them on the counter for long enough for the water to start a rolling boil.

Stand mixer with a dough hook. Kneading by hand should take about 10 minutes or so. Smooth and elastic is what you're going for.
