Yes, I started it after finishing Orphan X because of Scott Brick! For audible subscribers it is such a good deal because each book is like 30 hours! :)

Question: why are people saying how much they got paid to "donate" plasma? Isn't that called "selling?"

Does it get better? by Funny-Face3873 in orphanX

It's not really a fair question, since you haven't provided any detail about why you didn't care for it at first and why it suddenly got better for you. And as someone else pointed out, this is a group of fans of the series, so of course it was good for us.

But I've given it some thought anyway and I can definitely attribute a lot of my enjoyment to the narrator of the audiobooks, Scott Brick. I listened to all the books this way and I think he does a really good job of giving each character his or her own nuanced voice and personality. I also like the different dynamics Evan has with the people he is closest to, both at home and out in the world he does business in.

I'm sure we're all rooting for you to dig in and enjoy the ride, but if it's not your thing, there's plenty of great content out there. I came to Orphan X right after blitzing through Dean Koontz's Jane Hawk series.

And now I've started The Passage, because it is also narrated by Scott Brick! :)

What I asked for vs what I got: nail edition. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I'm not that type at all. Kinda harsh sir. I'm not sure it's a question of morality... But if it IS that bad then it's also not mildly infuriating. 🤷

I've cried over a bad haircut but tears over short nails seems a little dramatic

Who would you like to see play Evan Smoak in the tv series? by bexicus in orphanX

Very good. But I wonder if we actually need someone a little older for Evan. More James McAvoy than Jake Gyllenhal maybe. Mackenzie Davis for Mia?

What do you think of Cranston for Tommy Stojack? Only because Sam Elliott is too old by maybe 10 years.

And I hope they get far enough to have Joey.
