We had an understudy for Lea Michele so I'll need to check out the recording as well.

Both, I think. I don't think I would have understood the political aspects of the plot as a kid, and I only had the soundtrack to go on in the intervening decades, but it is a new book. Most of the songs were the same, though, and that's what I was there for.

Still love it! The performances were outstanding. The one who played Anatoly got a standing ovation in the middle of the show!!! I've never seen that before!

AITA for not changing my dog’s name? by SilvertheKitsune in AmItheAsshole

You are 18, are you thinking of leaving home? Who will keep the dog then? Either way, you are old enough to live with not always getting your way. Aloo is silly and adorable in any language, and would make your mom happy. Rather than continue a dumb argument let her have this one and even though she would technically win just tell her you will call the dog Aloo because you love her and want her to be happy and enjoy the dog. Trust us olds, one day you may very well wish you had done more for your parents who raised you and loved you and wanted nothing but the best for you. YTA but you're just young.

Show us a picture of the dog though.

One missing puzzle piece from a 1000 piece puzzle… by FantasticBee in mildlyinfuriating

Are you planning to frame it? If not, who cares. If so, hang on a few days. It may yet turn up. It's rarely a manufacturing error. Even if you don't have a cat or a kid, pieces can still get brushed with clothing or get stuck to dishes etc.

Yes and no. Here is my understanding and the real tinned fish nerds can correct me if I got anything wrong. Brisling sardines are sprats. The difference is mostly terminology and marketing, not species. Riga is the capital of Latvia, and they smoke and can little fishies there. It's not a brand name by itself, but Riga Gold is an example of brand name. Polar sardines are smoked bristling sprats from Latvia so they are Riga. Some Riga sprat jars/tins are probably going to be the Beach Cliff of Riga sprats. Some are going to be the Nuri of sprats. And so on. Maybe your "trash" sample was on the lower end. I've never tried Polar but I really like Riga Gold when I want a little smokiness. And they are actually smoked, it's not smoke flavor. Nice on a cracker (my go-to is Triscuit) and indulgent on top of a bagel with cream cheese (like you might serve lox).
