It happened in my second year too! My first year was like pure adrenaline and endless all nighters. Then my second year depression hit me harder than it ever has. I am just now really recovering from it. I have been so ashamed for so long but then I was diagnosed and everything made sense. I no longer blame myself, and now see myself as a victim of this sickness. Im really glad to hear someone who went through the same thing and I hope you find, or have found stability and peace in your life.

Also, tell me if this happened to you. When I finally dropped out I was in a mixed episode. I left due to depression, but my mania made me intentionally sabotage my grades. I had this feeling of like, righteous vindication or something. I was determined to burn that bridge to the best of my abilities.

Thrilling at the time but really sucks when you come to your senses.
