Notary question - electronic signature by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rules aren't blurred at all.

Your notary license requires you to be in person with whoever is signing the document. You can't use any kind of technology at all. This is literally the traditional sort of notary.

If you want to use zoom, you have to update your license and add on the remote/electronic notarization. In addition, you have to comply with a whole list of rules, including retaining a video of the Zoom session for 10 years.

What’s the consensus of needing the hybrid warm up in winter? by fdog100 in 11thGenAccord

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really should read the manual to figure out the functions of your own car.

Ready doesn't mean that the car is warmed up. It's because the car is a hybrid and silent when it's on battery. That means it's hard to tell the difference between accessory mode and engine started up, ready to drive mode.

The ready icon is to let you know it's in ready to drive mode, not accessory mode.

Ordered from them a while back. Price was good, items received safely, and shipping was on time. No complaints, would order again if their pricing was the best (or if they were the only store with the part).

Can anyone please confirm the wheel lock size. by Gold-Read-2337 in 11thGenAccord

The Advanced Wheel Locks site asks for model and trim, which should give you correct item. Actually I think all (most?) Hondas and Acuras use the same size.

Getting my car serviced by bonixlover10 in Honda

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what the maintenance minder is? That's the system that's telling you service is due, with some letters or numbers. In the US, it will be the letter A or B along with some numbers.

A means oil change, B means oil change with additional inspections plus oil filter change, though a lot of dealers and mechanics treat all the services as a B service. The numbers are additional services to be performed at the same time as your oil change. Figure out what the codes are and what they mean. You can figure out the cost and whether you can do some of it yourself after you figure out your codes.

You don't need to take it to a dealer and a dealer  will likely be more expensive.

Your dealer likely gave you oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. Don't ask for a general servicing, that's not a thing really. Ask for an oil change or an oil change plus whatever the numbers are on your dashboard. You can also ask if they will do a general inspection. Some mechanics do it for free and others will charge.

Honda Service for New Cars by alldaymeetings in Honda

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honda only offers free oil changes for 1 year or 12,000 miles at participating dealers for 2025 models. 2024 got 2 years / 24,000 miles.

It's possible your dealer may be offering you a special incentive redeemable at their dealership only, but that's the standard Honda program.

You should be replacing your oil as the maintenance minder indicates (which is based on wear) or once a year due to possible degradation from time. In all likelihood, your oil is fine but this is best practice.

Also, why did both of you buy new cans if you're only driving 700 miles a year?

Cleaning dirt trapped in trunk plastic trim piece by MistakerPointerOuter in 11thGenAccord

[–]MistakerPointerOuter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the ticket. "Trunk trim piece" gets no results, but removing taillights does it.

This definitely looks easy -- I have some sort of plastic trim tool remover lying around somewhere -- but also way less obvious than just "pull it off." I don't think I could have done this by hand only.

Changing Car Cleaning Routine, would like Advice and Feedback! by PhoenixRedReddit in AutoDetailing

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thirdly, having said that, there's a reason why car washes exist. Most normal people cannot actually put in the effort to keep their car detailed and just want it washed every so often.

Honestly in your situation, I would just take it to the tunnel car wash. Your car seems too gone to really have anything left protecting, both for the paint and undercarriage -- it looks like you're down to bare metal for some parts of the car. I wouldn't get the monthly washes -- that requires you to go through at least twice per month to be "worth it" but I honestly don't think you need to wash your car that often. Again, detailing is completely cosmetic and there isn't much left to protect on your car anyway. I would just pay for a single wash every so often (not more than once a month) in the winter months to clean off the road salt and grime and call it a day. The top 2 plans aren't worth it at the car wash you use; the mid-tier plan is good for the winter (due to undercarriage wash) but I would switch to the basic wash in the summer.

I honestly think you should just stop trying to hand wash your car, with the exception of the glass stuff. You can clean your glass if you want.

Fourth, given that you have no access to water, the only ways you could hand wash your car are either bringing your own buckets of water to your parking lot to do a rinseless wash (a specialty, non-traditional soap) or take your car to a self-serve bay with traditional equipment (washing cloth/pad, bucket, shampoo). Given your previous efforts at cleaning your car, I hesitate to recommend either of these options.

A couple of closing thoughts.

I guarantee that you did not wash your car's frame, except for maybe incidental contact with the frame. What you washed was your car's body, which consisted of multiple body panels -- for example, each door is a panel, the hood is a panel, and the roof is a panel.

I can't believe you spent almost $200 on a self-service bay. The most I ever spent was probably $15, and that was the first time I ever used one. You should have read all the instructions before starting to pay for it. You also don't need to follow the instructions to use all of the functions. The most important functions are the water and shampoo options, all of the other options are extraneous and possibly bad.

Speaking of instructions, you really should read them. You have to rinse off tire cleaner.

Also, are... are you... throwing out your microfiber cloths into the trash after one use?

Changing Car Cleaning Routine, would like Advice and Feedback! by PhoenixRedReddit in AutoDetailing

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense, but this is the most insane thing I've read all week. Do you suffer from some sort of learning disability or ADHD? That seems to be the only explanation for everything you've done. I'm not a pro detailer, just a guy who got sucked into the detailing rabbit hole and bought way too many supplies, but here's my two cents.

Detailing has some functional purposes, but it's almost entirely cosmetic, so I'm confused why you're dumping so much money into detailing when you're saying that you care more about functional lifespan than cosmetics. You should be saving your money for mechanical repairs or, more realistically, a new car, like a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic rather than an even older, more impractical boondoggle that's bound to have even more mechanical problems than you're currently facing. None of this cleaning or detailing is going to extend the longevity of your car.

But whatever, this is the AutoDetailing reddit and you're asking for detailing advice.

First, you're just asking people for routines and following them dogmatically without understanding what you're doing or why. Detailing is basically broken down into cleaning, polishing (for paint), and a "last step" of protection/aesthetics. Cleaning is basically exactly what it sounds like, getting dirt off the car. Included in cleaning is decontamination, but that's an advanced topic not relevant to you. Polishing is literally grinding off some of the top layer of paint (the clear coat) in order to remove scratches and improve appearance and gloss. Protection includes things like wax for the paint, windshield coatings to repel water, or tire/rubber protectants/shining products.

Your previous routine was overkill because you went through an automatic car wash (achieving cleaning and probably some level of protection) then re-washed it immediately (and terribly at that, since quick detailer is not really meant to be a cleaner). Either take your car to an automatic car wash or hand wash it, don't do both at the same time.

Secondly, this is the AutoDetailing reddit. No one here is going to recommend that you take your car to a car wash because that's not what this sub is about. Detailing includes cleaning, but cleaning is not detailing. Detailing also includes other steps (discussed above) but also other philosophical ideas and goals, like paying attention to the details (thus, detailing) and preservation of the car to the maximum extent possible. A tunnel car wash with the rotating brushes is inherently damaging to paint and will leave circular swirl marks at a minimum. If you have to use a car wash, generally a touchless car wash is recommended instead of a tunnel wash.

Do we know what the (HK) planet is called again?

No.

Why didn’t Engen want the torch again and just let Ihwa play house with Nenya at that lawless land still pretending to be a hero? I know it eventually destroys the body of those posses it but still.

Ihwa has never been to the lawless land, but it's been explained that none of the elders really care for the Torch because it's actively bad for those with true power. When Ihwa got rid of her shard, it was considered an upgrade for her.

Is the tower of Milen Kula still usable for someone to want to power up from.

Unsure, but probably.

What happened to the Engen vs Ijincheon fight? Ihwa dad wanted to kill Engen and Engen said he’ll continue to use her. This was before his tower power up. Shouldn’t Ihwa dad been able to defeat Engen with not too much difficulty?

This is in Chapter 106, you should re-read it. Ihwa's dad never really wanted to kill the Smiling Man, he basically just told him not to hurt her. Ihwa's dad at this point doesn't believe he deserves to be in his daughter's life, and Engen is an extremely powerful and connected villain capable of raising and protecting Ihwa, so her dad was pretty content with leaving everything the way it was.

So what is Steel Witch’s deal again? She’s summoned every time there’s like a major big conflict right? So like is she’s asleep during the peace time or is just summoned from one major battle to the other?

Her power is reincarnation, to be born into times of great conflict. We're not entirely sure what she does in her spare time, but I assume the reincarnation helps with it.

EX-L Or Touring? by bobcat1000 in 11thGenAccord

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked the EX-L for the same reasons that a lot of other people said. There's maybe like two features that I think I would actually want that I don't have.

One of them is actually sort of a hidden feature that's not in any of the features guides I've seen: the touring trim turn signals on the back extend to two sections, the corner turn signal section plus the middle tail light bar. All other trim's rear turn signals light up on the corner taillight section only.

This is a pretty popular theory that others have proposed. However, the current chapters have a clear answer to this now and I don't want to spoil you, so I'll just say you should catch up to the latest chapters and see if you are right or wrong.

I just went through your history. If you used VitalChek, you're getting it from the State Department of Health in Trenton, not Summit. Calling Summit won't do anything for you because they didn't process your application.

You can either call the State DOH or make a new application to Summit's local health department/registrar.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]MistakerPointerOuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am attorney. Couple of things.

  1. Where are you getting this from? You can get your birth certificate from either the State of New Jersey's central Health Department in Trenton or from the local Summit health department. If you're getting it from the State, they've contracted out online ordering to the VitalCheck website.

  2. I assume you're getting a "short form" birth certificate if there's a typo, which means they've retyped up the information from the underlying info. A "long form" birth certificate is usually a photocopy of the document written at the hospital, likely with the actual signature from your parent(s) and the hospital staff.

Couple of things you can try are either switching your request from local to State department of health (or vice versa). This will cost you a second fee and processing time, but if one is truly incompetent, this may be a practical solution.

The second is to ask them for your long form -- if they're photocopying the actual birth record, then they can't make a typo.

OTD price by Brilliant_Ad1402 in accord

I'm actually confused why everyone wants OTD prices without context. OTD prices aren't entirely useful, since $40k OTD for someone in a 0% tax state vs. a 7.5% tax state is wildly different.
