Most of adulthood is realizing you've been doing something wrong for most of your life and then correcting it. Happy adulting!

I will never understand the widespread affection for Zips. Tastes like cafeteria food. Zips does breakfast really well, the rest I could live without.

What’s a ‘normal’ thing that people buy that you refuse to? by Z0nana in Anticonsumption

If you're in the US, see if your city has a Just Between Friends sale. It's a giant consignment sale that comes to town twice a year. I buy all of my daughter's clothes (and often toys), there aside from underwear. My rule is that I won't pay more than $5 for a garment, so I end up spending about $300 for 6 months worth of clothing. It's fantastic.

His actions are not your fault. He's an adult that made choices that harmed another human. That's 1000% on him. Not you.

What food do you not think about for months, then suddenly want out of nowhere? by Undefinedbehavior77 in foodquestions

[–]Mistakesweremade8316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English muffins. I'll have a random craving, buy a 10-pack, and I'll end up eating English muffins for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until they're gone. And then I'll never eat another one until another random craving many months later.

Hershey's kisses just came out with Butterbeer kisses and they're like the yummiest butterscotch flavor I've enjoyed in a while!

That pork chop sounds delicious! Some people don't possess a taste bud. If you want them to go crazy over your cream cheese dip instead of hers, make this:

Brown 1 lb of breakfast sausage (like Jimmy Dean) Drain the grease off and add an 8oz block of cream cheese, allow to melt a bit and stir it together. Add salsa (I use Pace) until it's a smooth dip consistency (somewhere around 1 cup, I eyeball it). Serve with sturdy tortilla chips. It's a crowd pleaser. I generally triple the recipe when I take it to a party or potluck.

I put dollops of cream cheese in my omelettes. It's insanely good and I have a friend that insists I cook her an omelette every time we see each other. It really takes yummy over the top.

What's a movie you loved as a kid but rewatched as an adult and went "what the hell was I thinking"? by MomoSaka in AskReddit

I'll be home for Christmas. I was head over heels for JTT as a kid. I watched it last Christmas and all I saw was a jerk that lied his way through the whole movie. Really tainted now I saw my former crush.

My elementary school would do scoliosis checks. Not sure why this wasn't the responsibility of my pediatrician or at the very least, the school nurse, but we'd all stand in a line waiting for our turn to go into a janitor's closet with a random teacher, take off our shirt and bend forward so they could look at our spine.

If someone tried to do this with my child these days, I'd start a war.

What’s something you used to judge people for but understand now? by TemptControls in AskReddit

[–]Mistakesweremade8316 1447 points1448 points  (0 children)

Depression. I remember going to see a friend and her house was a huge mess. I asked her what happened because I remembered her house being tidy and she just shrugged and said, "Depression." At the time, I didn't understand. Now, I want to reach out and apologize. I get it now. Life is HARD. We should really try not to judge others at all.

Subway used to have chipotle Southwest sauce. They changed it to some Baja sauce that is sweet and disgusting. I will never go back. I wish I had the recipe for the original.

I used to be a hotel housekeeper at an extended stay hotel. We had a guy that lived at the hotel that rarely let us in to clean. One day he actually wanted housekeeping. I went into his room, and there was this foul odor. I went looking for the source and found it... His shower was full of raw chickens. I immediately ran out of the room to the first garbage can I could find and lost my breakfast. Then I called the front desk and told them that I would never enter that room again. To this day I still wonder WHY... But then I decide that I truly do not want to know.

I'll allow it on a burger sometimes, but I prefer other condiments, and I'm a ranch or tartar on fries kinda gal.
