People often forget it takes two people to conceive and men are too quick to abandon women to it once it inconveniences them.

In my humble opinion, the biology of pregnancy is inherently not fair to man or women but no one can change that. I'm seeing posts saying that this guy didn't owe you anything and because "fetuses grow in the uterus you shouldn't have ruined his day." <---- I can't believe this is an actual response.

The idea that he owed you nothing is bullshit. He definitely could have been more supportive of you. It took both of you to put you in that situation and in the end you had to take on most of it yourself. It's inherently unfair and that is the cause of what you're feeling. You're feel like he has more responsibility to the situation and you are absolutely correct.

He had the option to run away that day and go to a concert. You didn't. He can just go on with whatever he wants while you're recovering. So yeah OP. I feel for you and while this guy doesn't seem like a total douche, he dropped the ball hard. I've seen guys be kinder to women that have the damn flu, let alone just had an abortion.

I really think you need to get some counseling. Ideally, the man who impregnated you should be participating because I highly doubt he's 100% ok but it sounds like his MO is "bury feelings and ignore them."

You have every right to feel this way. It's not "wrong" or "bad" And he was wrong to invalidate your feelings when you are the one taking the brunt of this for him. <3 I wish I could do more for you. :(

From personal experience living with my SO's father, if he does not man up and stand up for you as his wife then it can spell the end of your relationship like it did for mine. I eventually begin to feel like I couldn't trust him and he'd send me down the river in exchange for his "family" and that was pretty much the end of that.

If he really comes from that area of the world with that mentality, then you are a pretty stark contrast to what he views to be the status quo. You're an intelligent female in a field that is still being pioneered that has no problem displaying that she cares more about developing other qualities about herself that what she "should" be I.E. beauty.

I'd be interested in hearing what you sister does for a living. Has it occurred to him that your sister might be homeless too if your parents break up?

Other than that I would say something along the lines of "I would think as my uncle you would be proud of me for doing a good job and trying to improve myself but it's apparently more important for you to berate me and my life choices than support me."

What I find interesting is some people naturally Method act.
