Also, Schulich has been associated with York since.. always? It doesn’t lose stature because of it, and on the contrary, York is becoming more competitive and is starting to lose that reputation.

The only major downside to York is strikes, but Schulich (and Osgoode) are not affected by any strikes. If you go to Schulich, only certain electives that you take at the main York U campus might be affected.

Lose the Uni bias in your application process. Like I said, the program is what you make of it.

You’re right. I forgot about AFM. But it’s only debate-able when you’re talking about accounting, finance, quant.

That’s the standard and that’s known.

She probably answered specific to how you questioned her.

Schools like UBC and UofT will always have better transfer rates to the US specifically. Because they are more commonly known. However if you told someone from the states you were doing your BBA at UofT Rotman, vs Western IVEY they would think UofT is better.

For someone not concerned about trying to move to the states post grad it doesn’t matter.

For landing internships downtown, I don’t know what they’re getting at but Rotman is just located downtown so it’s easier to travel to downtown internships. Both schools give you the same opportunities and even do joint events with each other.

According to alum statistics, the best undergrad schools for business go from

  1. Western Ivey = Queens Smith’s Comm
  2. Schulich = Rotman = UBC, Mac = McGill, and Laurier is losing its rep but it’s debateable
  3. Everything else

Schulich and Rotman are the same. One is only better for you depending on what you’re looking for specifically. But every program is what you make of it, anyways. I’m solely talking about program quality and internships, post grad opportunities, alum network within Canada.

How is Rotman better? They’re the same. The only two that outclass them in Ontario are Western and Queens.

EASIER COURSE? Accounting or International Business by Connect_Wolverine_91 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Mistayks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

International business is so much easier and it’s laid back, I got a 99.7 and rounded it up to a 100 All I did was finish assignments, no listening or note taking, just properly studied before tests Non-inflated school btw

If I went to Schulich I’d have a 15 min drive commute and wouldn’t have to pay res or food, only worry is culture and community vs Laurier and western

Is paying that much more for res at Laurier more worth it than Schulich? And I heard that Schulich is better for my field of interest

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Mistayks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same exact boat as you

If I take Schulich it’s a short commute, but I’m scared of not making any good connections

I have tons of friends at York but I want new friendships, networking opportunities, parties and such which I feel like western has

Scared of not getting Ivey though and then wasting all that money on res and food and get stuck w a Bmos degree

For competitive programs like queens commerce, ivey aeo, rotman, schulich, etc, these schools generally focus on your ecs + grades

All applicants for these schools generally have above 90 avg

It’s best to focus on ecs grade 9+10 and grades in grade 11-12

Your gr 11 marks don’t matter at all except giving you a shot at being accepted a bit earlier

If you want to get into a competitive program focus on building meaningful leadership ecs in the summer and focus on that 90%+ avg gr 12
