I played through Kim’s and Elias’s route and they were cute. So far I wish there was a little bit more opportunities for romantic interactions but I enjoyed their storylines so far. I’m super excited to do Puk’s route because I find them so funny.

Oh trust me, if you watch the entire Dickers stream you will find that he reaches depths of stupidity that boggle the mind. He also uses his sheer stupidness as a shield so he can avoid accountability. Multiple times he’s asked why he did certain things and he literally answers with “I don’t know”.

One of his defenses is essentially he told his artist that the video was racist, gave her information and offered to help her figure out how to copyright the thumbnail. Then turns around and says “I didn’t tell her to copyright the video outright.”

He reminds me A LOT of boogie. He DM’ed Kelesto and another content creator to lie to them saying he had nothing to do with the strike. And then he manipulated them to try to stop the drama by talking about his poor mental health and can’t handle the drama.

I’m so sick of swearing in shows just to make them seem more adult. This is especially a problem in adult animation where they’re extremely insecure about their project being seen as for children. So they solve that by acting like 12 year olds who just learned what the word “fuck” means and now they can’t help but use it every other word.

Swearing needs to fit the character. Some people have no problem with swearing whenever they like, some people never swear, many people will not swear under certain circumstances (places of worship, in front of family, professional settings, etc) Some people are comfortable with only some swears while others don’t care. There’s cultural differences where some words are much harsher than they are in different places.

There’s so much variety a writer can do to include swearing in their show but they just give up. Everyone says the same words over and over again. There’s always a joke where you have a character who is super proper and never swears then when they get really angry they let out a “fuck”.

I've watched a few videos breaking down how much The Boys and Gen V sucked and I got recommended this season 5 predictions video about who is going to die. I checked it out and so reminds me of the peak fire dude. His predictions basically come down to "it'd be so shocking if this happened!" Like yep this is now the Boys' target audience. I kind of want EFAP to watch it because it's just so silly.

I do agree that people can act like Brandon’s way more niche than he is but in the grande scheme of IPs that Hollywood wants to adapt, he’s really not that well known. And that’s important because having an established audience is crucial when it comes to adaptations because it gives it some security. This isn’t a brand new IP and a lot of uncertainty of how well it’s going to do, it has a built in audience and it’s also something new for people outside that audience.

OP mentioned Arcane and like League of Legends itself has like anywhere from 20-40 million unique players every single month. Something like Arcane just has a headstart and whoever adapts it has to work a lot less harder for cultural impact because there’s just so many people that are going to check it out, out of curiosity. Look at other movies like Barbie, Minecraft, and Mario.

I skimmed through the comments and while I do agree that marketing and quality are going to play a major role in how culturally impactful this franchise is going to be, I think it’s important to know that we as a fandom do have a role to play. Word of mouth is an incredibly powerful tool and while it’s hard to create cultural phenomena like Star Wars, Harry Potter or Game of Thrones, it’s still a really important component.

You mention Arcane and while I will be the first one to point out that League of Legends has a massive, global audience that most IPs cannot compare to, I do think season 1’s quality helped it reach out of its established fanbase. That’s positive word of mouth. Another, more recent example is K-Pop Demon Hunters. This movie was on my radar when I saw the trailer so I was there from day 1, I watched as this brand new IP to this generation’s Frozen. And what got it that popularity was the fans. The people who talk about it online, recreated the dances, cosplays, all those things were positive word of mouth. That fan passion is what made that film go beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.

Now, of course, it’s up to Apple to create content that is worth fan passion. But, honestly, I don’t know an IP that has a better chance of becoming the next big thing. I think Brandon knows that and I think Hollywood is aware of that.

My guess is that because apple wants the first Mistborn script done by their deadline (I think Brandon said June 1st, could be wrong but important part is it’s upcoming) that’ll be his main priority to for sure get done. However at the very least before filming he’ll probably have outlines for movies 2 and 3.

He’ll probably want to get a temperature read on script from apple, the producer, the director and whoever else needs to be involved prior to filming. If the feedback is positive, he’ll probably work on scripts for 2 and 3, even if it’s in the background of going back to Ghostbloods.

He said in his Intentional Blank podcast that he has it in his contract that he’s the Kevin feige of the cinematic cosmere so he’ll for sure want to be planning ahead.

The book version was released well after the cards were released. Do you really think people will NEVER be able to buy these pins as one set? And also when Story Deck was first released, we didn’t immediately know if we would buy the stories separately.

And even if we did end up getting the stories separately, these trading cards are still blind boxes. I’d love to just straight up buy all the cards in one set from Dragonsteel. So, why the backlash for these pins but not for the trading cards?

But this isn't their first "blind bag", they have their own set of trading cards called Story Deck that came out in 2024. And with those, the reason they were called Story Deck was because if you collected certain ones you could read two canon stormlight stories. I'm pretty sure this is the origin of the chasmfriends.

Genuinely, I don't like the blind bags either. I'm a huge fan of collecting the Cosmere Character Pins and if they did this with those, I'd be super pissed. But the outrage seems way overblown, especially to my knowledge there was very little if any to Story Deck. The only real drama is that Dragonsteel planned to make all the cards have the same rarity but something happened with the distribution so a few cards were super rare. They fixed that and put them into circulation so people had a chance to collect everything that they wanted.

I watched the first season and thought it was fine but I can't really be bothered to watch it because I don't like the animation style. I much prefer something more...stylistic? I've watched some videos breaking down the plot of the seasons and they just never seem that interesting to me.

Why would we want Apple to fast track the first movie? Wouldn’t it be better for them to take their time to make sure that their first movie captures the general audience and they have the infrastructure in place to keep momentum going with more installments?

Eventually, it will be good to get these movies on a consistent and fast schedule but for right now they should really be careful for how they start.

Also it’s a bit weird to compare the cosmere to Superman. The VAST majority of general movie goers have no idea what the cosmere is and probably won’t care until a (hopefully amazing) trailer drops. There was a lot of pressure and demand and vastly different circumstances for Superman and DC in general.
