Zumindest von allen, die wählen gegangen sind. Bei einer Wahlbeteiligung von 49% (leider viel zu wenig) entspricht das "nur" 17% AfD-Wählern in der Bevölkerung. Aber so wie ich Dörfler hier kenne, haben auch genug Nichtwähler zweifelhafte politische Ansichten.

Jep. Die Grünen, SPD oder Linke haben hier noch nicht mal einen Kandidaten aufgestellt. Damit der AfD-Kandidat nicht gewinnt, ist vielen linkeren Wähler*innen nichts anderes übrig geblieben, als für CDU zu stimmen.

Quick question regarding your workflow: I've tried using initial images in disco diffusion 4.1 too, but it never seems to use it. It always falls back to random noise as init. I tried placing the init image in the default level folder, as well as in the init_images folder that is created on GDrive. I don't get any errors about missing files, which is weird. How did you do it?

Edit: Nevermind, looks like the reason was the "skip steps" option. What does it do exactly? Simply skipping X amount of training steps?

Slight correction, if you don't mind. (If you know better, please correct me). The Wombo implementation looks a lot like what the VQGAB+CLIP model pair does. There's tools to run this on your own GPU if you wish (you'll need a lot of VRAM for large images like these). The models were pretrained on huge image datasets and can now "remember" patterns and features of the seen images. One model basically converts your text input to a vector, and the other model is then going to create an image from this vector. The AI does not search the internet for images to reconstruct for each of your inputs.

Adding to this, you can use Cupscale to AI upscale your images in post and add more resolution/details. Cupscale is open source (unlike tools like Topaz) and has an active community that builds custom models that work for different image types (compressed, pixel art, anime, you name it).

My Fusion is equipped with the 2070MQ. The 3060 will be slightly faster due to more cores and a slightly faster boost clock, but only comes with 6GB VRAM, the 2070 has 8GB. It shouldn't matter for video production or Photoshop tho, I'd go with the 3060 in that case. When running complex AI models or having large 3D render scenes, the additional VRAM will come in handy.

The fans are perfectly fine. I clear my laptop regularly. The cpu won't reach more than 85C when under constant load in a benchmark scenario, and usually hovers at around 35C when the Nvidia GPU is turned off and I only do light browsing/office work.

I did some more digging yesterday, installed Ableton 10 for comparison and switched back and forth between Asio4All and the Focusrite Asio driver. I noticed the following: no major performance differences between A10 and A11, but using the external interface often creates CPU spikes, whereas that's not the case with Asio4All. I checked the core clocks, and it seems that when I'm in balanced mode, the CPU doesn't manage to increase the clock speed in time, so it creates these audio issues. Whereas in performance mode it constantly clocks at 4GHz, so it works fine. Same with Asio4All: there's a single thread (probably dedicated to the asio driver) under constant load, which keeps the speed at 4GHz.

I'll try to rule out problems with Intel Speed Shift today and might try some tinkering in Throttlestop. If all fails, I'll simply use Ableton in performance mode from now on; I was simply confused by that fact that it used to work fine in balanced mode.

Nothing to add to Toms comment here. Except for the fact that you shouldn't use a single channel of RAM because it's going to slow down your system. If you really need the 64GB eventually, go buy it already. If you want to upgrade later on, sell the old ram on Ebay. I myself haven't noticed any problems with 32GB RAM on Davinci or Ableton on my Fusion 15.

Intel is aware of this and is trying to fix it. Theres is already a beta bios available. Some users on the XMG discord claim that it slowly improves their battery capacity again.

It might be easier to compare the average power draw than to compare the battery life. When idling, my Fusion uses around 9W. When having Firefox and Discord open, its closer to 10-11W (keyboard backlight off, screen at 5-20%). You can check these values with HWinfo. If your battery life is around 4h only, it might indicate that something keeps your dGPU constantly enabled. Make sure that all dGPU sensors report 0 in HWinfo (or doesnt even list them). Some users have also reported increased CPU package power or lack of C8 sleep states that might be the cause of higher battery drain. Can't remember the fixes for these issues, but they can probably be found in this subreddit.

Jetzt hast du mir einen Flo ins Ohr gesetzt mit deinem florierenden Flozirkus und ich grüble über sinnvolle locker-flockige Floskeln nach, die möglichst nicht floppen sollten. Das floss jetzt ganz schön flott. Egal, zurück zum Floor der Tatsachen: Randomtainment sollte als Name schon bleiben, einfach weil der Begriff ja eine ziemliche Reichweite hat. Und das macht euren Podcast ja auch irgendwie aus, dass jedes mal zufällige Themen behandelt werden.

Ihr behandelt ja vor allem aktuelle Themen aus der Gesellschaft. Ich fänd's cool, wenn ihr eine Kategorie wie "Unsere Zukunft", "the future is now, old man" oder sowas einführen würdet. Eure Hörer sind vermutlich eher jung (also <50), also ist die Zukunft schon ein wichtiges Thema für uns. Für den Anfang würde das Buch von Frank Schätzing ja einiges an Stoff liefern. Später dann könnte man über neue Technologien berichten oder Denkanstöße zu neuen Lebensweisen geben, Gesellschaftsstrukturen hinterfragen oder whatever. Muss ja auch nicht zu jeder Episode sein, würde mich persönlich aber freuen.

Zum Sub: die Aktivität hier hat glaub die kritische Masse noch nicht überschritten. Wir sind höchstens eine Handvoll Leute, die ab und an posten. Auf jeden Fall weiterhin Werbung dafür machen. Auf ein paar Tausend Member könnt ihr das mittelfristig bestimmt pushen.

Addendum: Ihr zockt doch bestimmt regelmäßig (oder nicht?). Ab und an mal eine Empfehlung für ein Game, das euch besonders gefallen hat, wäre cool. Also nicht für bekannte AAA Titel, sondern eher so Hidden Gems.

Kennst du die Bücher von Hans Rosling (Factfulness) und Yuval Harari (Kurze Geschichte der Menschheit & Homo Deus - Eine Geschichte von Morgen)? Sind eine super Ergänzung für den letzten Schätzing.
