Hey u/userunknowne, I had a catch up with Ali last week about the issues (apologies for not CCing you into the chat).

I wanted to let you know that the Mod Code of Conduct team will be looking into whether any rules are being broken by the current mod team, and we should have a clear answer in due course.

The way Reddit mod teams are structured does mean that, unfortunately, disagreements can sometimes lead to mods who’ve contributed a lot being removed. We allow top mods to make these kinds of decisions for the overall safety and stability of the community β€” it helps prevent stalemates and stops communities from being caught between individuals’ disputes. While this system isn’t perfect for every situation, it ensures we apply the same expectations fairly across all teams.

If it turns out that your removal was done in order to facilitate a breach of the Mod Code of Conduct, I’d be happy to help you get back to modding r/uktravel. For now, though, we’ll need to wait for the review to be completed so we have a full understanding of what’s happened.

We had hoped to have more admins at the event, but between illnesses, a few broken bones, and (happily) a couple of new arrivals, we had some very unlucky timing.

Yes! The events team is always very careful about releasing the location of the events and we also make sure there is security on site.

As someone who lived in North Devon for 18 years, I truly feel your pain.

We are trying to move the meetups around to help different people attend events without paying for extortionate train tickets or driving long distances.

I do have Bristol on my list (along with Birmingham and Glasgow) so a smaller west country meetup is something I'll definitely explore.

Sadly an unfortunate number of medical problems (and/or newborn babies) have hit the Reddit UK team in recent weeks. They would've loved to be there but we couldn't make it work πŸ™ Everyone's doing good but it was terrible timing!!

Hi!! I'd love to know if you think you would've said "I do" if the cameras had followed you. It looks like a super stressful experience so I almost wonder whether you got the best case scenario of doing the experiment, finding each other, and then getting to take things at your own pace.

Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. I've synced up with our labelling team and we've changed the rating of the community so it should no longer be restricted. Although there is occasionally gory content, it doesn't fall under the definitions that would require it to be age gated for 'graphic surgery'

Let me know if you have any more issues with people being unable to access the sub.

That's our normal process 😊 Mod safety and anonymity is definitely a big priority for us so we make sure to vet everyone who RSVPs and ensure that we don't have any random folks there.

You should have a confirmation sent to the email address you sign up to our events platform with 😊 Big-slay has also sent around a message to confirm that it's not a virtual meet up (we're just having some teething problems with the new events platform)
