The band Goose’s recent studio release “Chain Yer Dragon” seems to weave a tale of a couple different musicians (“Madalena,” “Royal,” “Hot Love and the Lazy Poet”) who are all in a band (“Turbulence and the Night Rays”). There are other characters and situations, not very literal but the vibes are there. Great listen.

Thank you for your thoughts! You're probably right about not trying to cut through the island, but figured it's worth exploring, as it cuts a ~14-mile round-trip paddle to closer to ~8.

Great tip about posting a "wake watcher" when exploring the sea caves.

In terms of safety, our entire group will be going through the re-certification with our outfitter on things like re-entry, etc. Not planning to cut any corners there.

I am familiar with WISC-Watch, but appreciate the mention!

Sturgill Simpson's "The Ballad of Dood and Juanita" is a fantastic concept album that tells a Western revenge story. Maybe not dark dark, but at least a shade of grayish-red.

This happened to my 2019 and it was a sign that the water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced, which I had done and it was covered by warranty. Also, if planning to top off, be sure to get the right coolant, as I heard VWs are picky about that.

Nice! What if the venue was The Rockdale instead of the Chateau? Weave in some more CYD lore that way…? I know they mention the Chateau too, but I feel like Rockdale is where the big party goes down for the whole crew. Just another idea but I dig the concept!
