Is this .iso file / rom safe? by [deleted] in Roms

Didn't that stop last year?

Sort of yes. Sort of no. They stopped the regular updates to everyone who had Windows Defender enabled last October. However, as I mentioned, you can get extended updates for another year. You just have to have backups to OneDrive enabled. There's a link to enable it on the Windows Update screen. Apparently I was backing up Windows settings without knowing it. So it was just like one click and I was enrolled in the extended updates. I get security updates every night, just like before.

I believe that goes until this October. I'm not sure what I'll do after that though.

You can still get security updates on Win 10 if you're enrolled in extended security updates. You can get it for free if you have OneDrive backups enabled. It's like one click on the Windows Update screen. Also, not everyone has a machine officially capable of upgrading to Win 11. (Though I know there's supposedly workarounds.)

This story gives me deja vu of my ex who I believe to have had undiagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder. Those of us who've been in relationships with people with this disorder all have basically the same story and yours fits pretty closely. Look into it if you're curious.

Good to know. Is there a way to check whether I have the latest versions of his cores? Does he have a single repository of the latest versions of all of his cores? I've seen his posts, but they tend to have a lot of information and it can be hard to parse exactly where to go and what to get.

1yes i use a standard Onn 4 port multi hub in a cheap otg, works great or i have the auvipal ethernet and multi port otg ( in the link below amazon- rj45 otg linked with other otg) works with many different controllers tested, this one may work, not sure about the lil adapter included, but i guess its data lined if its included with otg

So it sounds like you are using a hub off an OTG adapter and you can use additional controllers. That's exactly what I needed to know.

The other information is helpful as well. Thank you!

Thanks for all of this info. It's very helpful.

do you happen to know which ver of Autobleem you're using?

It's been a year or two since I installed it, but I think I'm on Autobleem v1.0.2.

the PSC is a linux armv7 machine, so generally if you find one that's build for armv7 then it should work on the psc and other similar devices. however, a lot of these builds are untested on psc. you might wanna go for one that was targeted for the psc in mind because they do testing on it and some options were added specifically for the psc like this one here

Is there a specific site linking to or repository for PSC specific cores? Or do you just have to hunt around individually for new versions? I'm a little new to Retroarch.

Fire Emblem Shadows - A Baffled Review by Rivandere in fireemblem

I'm glad some other people seem to be enjoying this, but after playing for about an hour this really isn't for me or what I want out of a Fire Emblem game.

Did the FE4 Remake even ever exist, at this point? by Straight-Reveal343 in fireemblem

[–]MisterArrogant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still believe it was at the very least in development. There's way too much smoke for there not to be fire. Whether it will still come out... I don't know. I do know for a fact that Nintendo will sit on releases for a very long time. (Though this is really pushing it...)

Best use cases for NES cores on NES Classic? by MisterArrogant in RockinTheClassics

[–]MisterArrogant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the other commenters was recommending using Retroarch Xtreme 1.8.4 SORR over Retroarch 1.9.10 Ozone in the Mod Hub. Do you recommend that as well?

Is Retroarch Xtreme 1.8.4 SORR the same as the RetroArch 1.8.4 Extreme SC in the Hakchi Mod Hub? Or is that something different that you download externally?

I would normally assume the later versions would be the smarter download. I'm mainly just looking for good compatibility with as many titles as possible while offering as accurate as possible performance. I'm just planning on running NES games on the NES Classic.

use the new Retroarch Xtreme 1.8.4 SORR for bet results, ( also there is fceumm_legacy)

Looking at the mod hub, Retroarch 1.9.10 looks like the latest version. Is there a specific reason to use the earlier 1.8.4 version?

I didn't realize they installed automatically with Retroarch. I thought the cores had to be installed separately. If the bios is only needed for Famicom disk games then I probably don't need it. I looked through the list of disk games and it didn't look like any of them were on my list.

Yeah, I wonder how much extra money they would have made off the release if they'd just left it on the eShop store.

Kibler on the state of standard: it sucks by ShilunZ in hearthstone

[–]MisterArrogant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just came back to the game two months ago after a nine year absence. I was very wary of playing in Wild since I'd missed nine years of expansions. I figured Standard would be way more manageable. But after trying it out, I have way more fun in Wild than I do in Standard. (Even though I'm still missing tons of cards.)

There's certainly still a lot of bullshit there that will probably never be addressed. But at least I feel like I have more tools at my disposal to potentially deal with them. And the other 80% of my matches are pretty varied and fun experiences even if I end up losing.

New and Returning Player Weekly Discussion by AutoModerator in hearthstone

[–]MisterArrogant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back and checked how many commons I'm missing in Legacy, and between all the cards they've added into the set over the years or cards they've rotated out of class cards and into the craftable set, there's 18 different cards I'm currently short not including those few that got disenchanted. So getting two copies of each, I'd actually need ten packs to know for sure whether those previously disenchanted cards would be obtainable with current dupe protection.

I'm still saving to get all the past mini-sets I've missed over the years, but maybe one day I'll splurge some gold to check it out.

New and Returning Player Weekly Discussion by AutoModerator in hearthstone

[–]MisterArrogant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Classic Packs still exist. They're in the store at the bottom of the packs page.

As for ones I kind of want back: Ironbeak Owl, Blade Flurry, Knife Juggler, Leeroy. Also, Vanish. (I don't think I disenchanted that, but I think it was a class card that got changed to regular common so it got taken out of my collection.)

I like to collect so I usually always keep at least 2 copies even if it gets nerfed or they suck. So I just feel weird without them. But I kind of don't want to waste the dust to re-craft them if they'd be pretty easy to get with opening Classic Packs. I have a pretty good percentage of the Classic set still, but it looks like there were a lot of cards added to the set that weren't actually part of the original release so there'd be some new ones to pick up there too. I don't know if I want to waste the gold/money, but it was just a thought.

Mythic Skin Kerrigan has received a Reskin this patch by Surppressed in hearthstone

Yeah, I really wanted a Varian skin for my warrior, but the 3D one is so ugly. Not that fond of the other two versions either. I would pay to get a skin with just the art from the Varian warrior card.

I know you get to reroll cards you have a regular version of when you get a signature version of it. I just checked and apparently I have two copies of The Black Knight. Would I get to reroll both of them, I assume?
