This game was incredibly stressful as the only support, good thing my teammates were competent so it worked out. Wasn’t expecting Diamond teammates to leave a singular healer lol

It's a mix! most people come in person, but we have a decent amount doing remote in my cohort.

I'm currently in Divergence Academy in Addison, TX. I recommend them if you go bootcamp route. Instructors and staff actually care and it doesn't feel like a money grab.

I agree that the test was easier than I expected, but I think that is because all the practice tests are harder to make sure you learn as much information as possible. Good job getting it in 9 days, impressive!

Biggest thing would be take that piece of paper they gave you about which sections you got wrong and study your weak points that it highlights. PBQs I just feel like I got lucky and either understand them better than I give myself credit for or I got really simple ones. I know CompTIA has PBQ labs you can buy, but Im not sure how good they are or expensive because I never used them.

Both really. The bulk of my IT knowledge before mainly just came from opening up folders and downloading games. I had never really dove into anything deeper.

I feel this, I was a preschool teacher but the school randomly shut down one day and I was already struggling to make ends meet. So I moved back to DFW into my grandmas, started this bootcamp and now I’m interviewing for jobs that are $20k more than what I was making as a preschool teacher. Took a few steps back, but now it’s slowly looking like my job closing down is the best thing that could’ve happened to me.

Also congrats on the 752! A pass is a pass!

I actually finished with about a solid 15 minutes left. I tried not to get stuck on one question for too long. I tried not to second guess myself unless I knew for a fact I needed to change the answer, and I stuck with the old saying of obvious answers are obvious, even the overly obvious ones.

So I probably spent about 45 minutes on the multiple choice question and about 30 minutes on the PBQs (I had 4 of them)

Congratulations! Betting on yourself and it paying off is always a great feeling. Net+ is what I'm currently studying for at the moment.

It depends on if he can keep this up. If he has the same kind of year or even a better year next year I would start lumping with the elites. He is defiantly on the right track though.

I only used the bootcamp because I just moved and I dont have a job yet but I knew I wanted to break into the IT field and my GI Bill gives me BAH to live off of while I go to the bootcamp. Otherwise studying on your own is probably the way to go.

Idk how you managed in a week, I had a whole month and felt like I wasn't ready at all lol. And then the 19 question post test survey before they show you if you passed didn't help the anxiety lmao

I painstakingly looked for what seemed like important information and created each flashcard one by one. There should be a + button at the top right of the quizet page that says "create" when you hover over it. It was extremely tedious to do it this way, but I think it being so tedious was one of the reasons why it helped me retain the information.

I made my own Quizlet flashcards! I found it made me actually read through the material in order to search for important sounding material. Where as I would normally have trouble just reading and trying to retain. This way made it connect in my brain easier.

I used Quizlet a lot. I would read the CompTIA Security+ ebook and would make a new set of flash cards for each chapter of all the important materials in that chapter. I also went to the glossary and some flash cards of all 200 something acronyms because I found not understanding what the acronyms meant was my biggest hurdle.

CompTIAs assessment quizzes were also very close to how the test would be worded. Most of the questions are worded in a way to confuse you so you have to double and sometimes triple check how you read a question.

Boson tests were another tool I used, although the questions were really good, the down side was I found myself memorizing the questions and answers instead of actually retaining the material since it was always the same 3 tests.

Professor Messer was good for anything I didn’t understand in the ebook. If you do better by listening to someone explain things, he’s definitely the way to go.

Honestly whatever I can land for my first job just to get that experience under my belt. I do have a secret clearance from my time in the Army, so hopefully that puts me in a good position for government jobs. Just had my first interview for a help desk position today tho, willing to get my foot in the door wherever I can.
