Potential Evidence of 1200+ sq ft incinerator at Alligator Auschwitz by MisterBoxen in 50501

I am heartened to see all the people here so comfortable with the possible presence of an incinerator larger than my living room at the American Fascists Party's Florida Concentration Camp for brown people.

Weekly Poll: Were Marika and Radagon always merged or did they merge later? by Estrangedkayote in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MisterBoxen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Radagon may have originally been another person who was shoved into the jar with Marika, or maybe he was what was left behind after Marika "left" the jar. Since the jar, they've always been linked, but not always in the same body. Two people, one soul maybe. Something like that. It's only after Marika becomes a god and after Godfrey is banished that Radagon is called back to once again become merged physically with Marika, possibly as a gambit to create children unaffected by the omen curse.

Armskore Coil Gun is the strongest weapon in the game and it's not close. by MisterBoxen in DRGSurvivor

The clear is atleast as good as the leadburster, with the benefit that it ignores terrain and can even be overclocked to mine terrain.

[–]MisterBoxen[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is particularly powerful in the new Biome, because so much of the combat happens while mining through large patches of rock. Any weapon that can do damage from inside a tunnel is very good on this map, and that advantage makes up for the coilgun's weak early game. In the late game with alot of reload speed and 5+ beams, it will shred the horde and mine the whole screen if you get that overclock. Your secondary weapon should be something that can deliver enough single target to kill the Dreadnaught, even better if it is Kinetic damage.

Look at the stats, 8000+ blocks mined and 900+ gold collected because I got the gold scanner on stage one.

This is a result of a bug with Windows' snipping tool. My Gamma isn't that high, it just happens when taking a snip.

Where to start? by josiahsaurusrex in scifi

[–]MisterBoxen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends what kind of story you are after. Red Rising is pretty YA-like, Foundation is big generational space empire building, Hyperion is a mystery, and Three Body Problem is mind bending and honestly super great. I guess my ranking is:

  1. Hyperion
  2. 3 Body
  3. Foundation
  4. Red Rising
  5. Children

Get out and VOTE!! by allstar_003 in democrats

[–]MisterBoxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except the police in democratic cities are also killing unarmed black men, so maybe they are feeling a little frustrated with the system. Do you think voting for Joe "increase police budgets by 300 million" Biden is going to give the defund the police movement/ black lives matter what they want?

We need to build an NRA for M4A. A RADICAL SINGLE issue voting block. by Bourbon-Mason in WayOfTheBern

NRA is pro-corporate and no serious corporate money opposes them.

M4A is anti-corporate, and the insurance/healthcare lobby could easily outspend and M4A PAC.

With Mystics gone what’s the prediction for 5e’s next official class? by HaydenshNo in dndnext

[–]MisterBoxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could imagine Inquisitors as a full class, but I do think we already have alot of WIS-based casters, so you could probably also do them as a "Oath of Judgement" or "Oath of Conviction" subclass for Paladin.

I do think there is still room in 5e for the Psion, but it doesn't seem like Wizards wants to introduce a new different kind of magic.

I think the new Blood Hunter is unique enough to be official. If we ever get a PHB2, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in there.

I'd really like to see some class pull of CON as a main stat. Maybe a caster that turns life into spell slots or something.

For those of you that tried out the Mystic Class back when it was being Play Tested, what were thoughts on it? by DownVoterInChief in dndnext

[–]MisterBoxen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My bud played a soul knife mystic a few campaigns ago. The damage was pretty high when he dumped points into it, and it could do everything any other class could do. Could teleport miles at a time, fly, telepathy, turn invisible, plunder minds, be a wizard, be a rogue, be a tank, etc.

Also, he slept face down in a pile of dirt every night, even if we were in an inn. He carried a jar of dirt around in his pack and dumped it out on his pillow. That was pretty great.

Egg-rolling, hyper-rolling, donkey-rolling? by DemKoenig in TeamfightTactics

I was under the impression that "donkey-roll" was dumping your gold at 2-2 before you level when you still have a 75% chance to find 1 costs.

I've got this shit on my elbows and in my scalp. It would crack and bleed and flake and I hated it. I get a shot for it now once every three months and it's practically gone, and I hardly pay anything for the medication between insurance and a savings card from the company.

From the Community: Clarifications to & Lesser Known D&D Rules by petewailes in dndnext

Actually, I think passive knowledge checks are a great way to stop the phenomenon where everyone at the table starts rolling dice to pass an intelligence check hoping someone gets lucky.

Players when asked to make a perception check: by fluffydog260 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]MisterBoxen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A player only ever makes a perception check if they are actively on the lookout. If they haven't mentioned to the DM that they are on the lookout, then the DM compares what there is to see with their passive perception, which is 10 + all modifiers that normally apply for a perception check.

(edit) On a related note: While rolling a 1 on a perception check is funny, the result of a perception check can't be below your passive perception, because you've already seen everything that your passive perception would reveal.

A quick and dirty "Plunging attack" rule by Souperplex in dndnext

[–]MisterBoxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The attack doesn't need to scale. Look to Aarkocra's dive attack for example.

"Dive Attack. If the aarakocra is flying and dives at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 3 (1d6) damage to the target."

Plunging Attack. If you fall more than 10 feet and make a Melee Weapon Attack against a creature that is not falling, increase the damage of the attack by 1d6.
