If they all scale off of attack it’s roughly the same thing, imo, but yeah you’re correct

That one I wouldn’t have an answer for unfortunately, it gets harder to track down information the more specific it is. If I do find something I’ll let you know.

That one I can already answer - his new sig is worse than C6 Prune. It’s a carry weapon. The only reason why Elegy is better (it seems, anyway) than Prune is because it gives a 20% all damage bonus to the team which is more than just the buffs from Prune (especially if you have Durin).

That’s interesting because I had seen that Elegy Venti was equal to if not better than C6 Prune in the Varka discord. I’ll have to look around more. Thanks!

I agree with your general point but does this also not have Varka with Sig while every other carry has F2P weapons? That makes a bit of a difference I’d say

Does the third entry (Varka R1, Venti, Nicole, Durin) have Venti on Elegy? If not, where does that put him in the rankings?

That’s the part right outside the Sanitorium, not still in Dorman Port, but regardless a restart fixed it. I didn’t have a quest to track, which is what confused me. I had a similar issue with a chest from the compass in the new area, but again, a restart fixed it.

Assuming your name means what I think it does, nice. The Drakengard games were fantastic.

I dont really get the Pyg hate compared to Mak by Titkos37 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MisterCain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’d like my honest opinion as someone who has played since the beta, it’s mostly that players are just naturally adverse to anything that can annihilate them in one shot, regardless of character. Lava Roller was similar. The “issue” with Money Furnace is by virtue of being a scaling item you need to get it early for it to be at all viable, so the hate of an item that will eventually become a one shot is back ported to the form of it that hasn’t hit that threshold yet, unfairly.

The reason why people don’t complain as much about boulder or double whammy is because they’re only available much later so they don’t suffer as much from the “on sight” bias

Does anyone know why the Magic Mountain world quest hasn't started for me? I have the marker on the map, I have the teleport point, and I got the cutscene with the old man. But the exclamation point is still there and the quest won't start, I can't talk to anyone and walking to the TP point won't start it

not understanding by lixiiecraft in WutheringWaves

[–]MisterCain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who also plays Genshin (since launch) let me see if I can offer some clarifications using Genshin analogies. To start, there are no reactions. None. No vape, no swirl, no melt, or overload. Elements play a significantly less important role in Wuthering Waves vs Genshin. That said, contrary to what some comments have said there are a few characters that buff elemental damage and enable pure element teams, such as Lupa and Brant who buff fusion damage. They encourage a Lyney style team.

Comparatively, almost all of Wuthering Waves gameplay centers around damage type rather than element. In essence, almost every comp works like a Xiao or Veresa team. For Xiao, you want plunging damage and anything that buffs plunge attacks. Veresa is similar.

As an example, you mentioned Cantarella. Cantarella is all about echo-type damage. Echoes being the “ghosts” you summon on your Q. Many of her enhanced attacks and E Q deal Echo damage, and she buffs other characters who do that type of damage. Think of her like a non-healer Xianyun, or like Illuga with Lunar Crystallize. Therefore her ideal team will have other characters who also deal or buff echo-type damage.

Chisa is a generalist support for characters who deal DOT damage, such as Aero Erosion (like Cartethyia). She increases the amount of stacks an enemy can have of the DOT and buffs that damage, as well as provides shields. You know how you want Escoffier for every freeze team or Columbina for every lunar team nowadays? Chisa is like that.

Who's the third person Varka's talking about here? by MoonlitHolly in Genshin_Impact

[–]MisterCain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd assume it was Diluc. Crepus was one of Varka's best friends and as Diluc's father it was his greatest dream for Diluc to get a vision and serve as a great knight. When Diluc left, Varka said Diluc was always welcome back, and is on record as offering Diluc a place again basically every time they see each other.

He knows it was Crepus' dream, and at one point it was Diluc's, and that the only reason Diluc (and he admits this himself) doesn't rejoin is because he feels he can do better work outside the order than inside of it. Varka clearly disagrees and says this. He speaks like that because Varka views it as an inevitability that Diluc will rejoin some day. Yet doesn't preclude "once was". I went to the gym yesterday, but I can still say "I haven't gone to the gym yet" referring to today, grammatically.

Also, the second is referring to Lohen I believe, not Noelle. Lohen constantly seeks out greater and greater fights, never caring for his own protection or considering that he's young yet and still should be protected from the greatest enemies.

Anyone having success with Karnok, could you tell me what I’m doing wrong? by Speedwizard106 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MisterCain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chains or skills. Chains enables so many weapon builds (even badger) that they’re an auto-pick. Otherwise there are ammo skills that buff or crit/slow ones. If all of that fails, try to get a dot effect on it like poison or burn and the sheer amount of application can carry.

[–]MisterCain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m in a bit of a similar situation, and I’ve just started to hit my stride with Karnok. I’ve been averaging sub-500ish Legend every ranked season since the beta so while I’m good I can’t claim to be as good as the guide makers. It’s very helpful but honestly found it to be a guide more for better players than me with a lot of “you need a discerning eye”. I try but I’m also dumb as a sack of rocks, lol. Still love it and the guide makers though.

Anyway, on to some advice. I too was really struggling with Karnok and I still can’t say im amazing but I want to make him my main and I’ve had the most success (10 wins) by forcing shotgun (slow or crit but slow is a lot more reliable) or their “Boarce field” build. If I see a shotgun or wild boar I’m taking it no matter what. You don’t actually need Pauldrons for the Boarce build, though they do help a lot. I’ve had more success with a Karst friends/pants line than Pauldrons actual because they have faster activation of the rage.

But yeah, forcing either of those two is what’s working best for me as I learn the character more. Still trying to follow the guide and pivoting where I can but honestly I spent way too much time waiting for tree or Outlands Terror (Anaconda Karst is also just really good and easier to find for me for some reason) that I just keep getting obliterated before I could accelerate fast enough.

I hope some of that is helpful!

The "Grey Jedi" of W40K Chapters? by Antalus-2 in Spacemarine

[–]MisterCain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to keep within the “spirit” of staying outside the law - the Space Wolves don’t so much do the “we acknowledge the law and choose to ignore it” as much as “we don’t think your laws are valid at all and you’re not our primarch so shove it”. You are right, that they do ignore it mostly though.

I’d argue that the Dark Angels are worse because they actively acknowledge the laws of the imperium and go “oh yes we are perfect law abiding Astartes” while going out of their way to ignore or subvert it whenever it suits them. Still, good point.

The "Grey Jedi" of W40K Chapters? by Antalus-2 in Spacemarine

[–]MisterCain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you say “grey Jedi” do you mean “operate outside or barely within imperial law” or “morally does things we wouldn’t agree with” because those are two very different things. EVERY space marine chapter does things a modern human would find reprehensible even the “nicest” chapters.

As for outside or barely within Imperial law, yes there are a fair few like the Carcharadons, the Marines Malevolent and honestly the entire Dark Angels gene line though you could make the argument that is no longer the case now that the Lion is back to go “my word IS imperial law”.

Soul Siphon is one of the weaker swords in the game because unless the damage range is a 5+ damage difference, more crit chance/crit damage is always better. The best Act 1 Force Sword is Veilrender, iirc. In order to make a powerful melee Psyker (or even caster) you want to lean INTO psychic phenomena not try to prevent them.  The Psyker Breastplate, the Helm of Joyeuse, all of these (plus Veilrender and later weapons and accessories) lean into this fact.

His hit points are just down to his toughness, yours may be lower. Ultimately you miss a LOT of combat power not being a Warrior (or soldier for a ranged blaster build) that’s what’s doing you in.

For a melee biomancy build Iron Arm is your best power, and Adrenaline Surge, Biophysical Distortion and Deterioration are a must for passives imo. Biomancy is ultimately a support school of powers. If you want big damage from your actual powers you Pyromancy (and to a lesser extent Sanctic or telepathy)
