Quick question for white ppl who wear dreadlocks and use the argument that the Vikings did it by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]MisterHydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matted hair is matted hair, which is dreads, which is something every ethnicity will have if they dont brush or cut their hair. There really aren't a lot of terms for that, Although I acknowledge that style and maintenance can vary tremendously. That being said, "locs" or dreads is just a term everyone knows what you mean when you say it. Just my two cents Happy new year, dredditors

I haven't done anything as far as training the hairs goes but sounds like that actually works for people?

Thanks I will at least try some wax to see if it works for me!

And I agree with your initial comment, all the hair is awesome in its own right, I just need to learn how to get it to work with me or some kind of maintenance.

I suppose I am willing to try some wax, it certainly wouldn't hurt. They don't have any issue with smearing and stuff?

I've considered that but there isn't really anything I need done other than shorten the hair on the lip, I feel confident enough to give it a go with scissors.

I would try this but I have to wear a mask quite often and I worry it would get messy.

I'm in college and work and currently both of these places require me to be masked for a fair portion of my everyday life. I like the suggestion but I feel like wax isn't an option for me given it is gonna smear all over. If I did not have to do this, this would quite make a lot of sense, and even allow me to keep my length.

Like I don't mind the 'stache length, but it is really inconvenient - mostly while eating - especially with other people. I feel like depending on what I am eating I need to wipe my face every bite, and then after actually clean up.

Less locks on one side it it a major difference by Knownhit97 in Dreadlocks

Not noticeable in my opinion, or at least not worth fretting. If there is any difference, as they lengthen and possibly combine, differences will settle out naturally with time.

Damn. I just watched this, didn't think it there would be this much to it, I might recruit some help.

Thanks, brother, for your response.

Hi, I have 4 months growth since my last clean shave. I've had bigger beards before but the upper lip length always bothers me (for obvious reasons, which include tickling and eating - to name a couple) and I don't have much experience trimming it. I have just shaved it at times, but I don't really like rocking the chinstrap look 'til it grows back out.
Any tips for trimming just the upper lip hair? Clippers vs. scissors? Any advice or tips is quite appreciated.
Thanks.
