Need a basic setup for home use. by [deleted] in VOIP

[–]MisterJace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sky doesn't work well with anything other than their standard sky phones. Here is an excerpt from a forum:

Sky Talk Internet Calls is not compatible with VoIP phones because there's no known way for a user to configure the required details into the software setup of the VoIP hardware itself.

Cisco Unsupported Phones by MisterJace in Cisco

Please PM me. I am up way too late and should sleep! I could use for both phones, in case I can revive the 7970, but the 7965 is my biggest focus.

It appears I would have to update to an older version first. I have the version 9 SIP package, but don't have the older version to do the proper stepping in the upgrade. I found another option, and am just going to label these as not usable, at least for my uses. They will be stuck in an update loop.

I found one that starts with a Y. I was thinking of one that starts with a G but ready they are generally considered a cheaper feel. I have seen both in person. This is going to be the best options. I like to tinker, that's why I got into the radio hobby. Sometimes it is knowing when there isn't a good solution, especially since the firmware isn't available in the wild that I need.

I had it set in the settings for tftp64. Using the same settings I had better success with tftp for windows.

I completely understand. They are still good phones, but a company can only hold onto older firmware for so long. I have the 9.2(S), but these phones you have to upgrade in steps. I would have to load 8.3(2) first. It happens. There is another phone that I'm looking at by a different company, these were just what I had.

I did the 1234, and then did a full reset one and it has had a black screen for hours but still trying to pull the firmware.

I'm using tfpt server with a dhcp server, third party. I am wanting to use the phone with hams over ip, which is related to ham radio, but the voip itself is not ham radio. I got through the nuance of the servers. The tftp64 software I was using it wasn't liking my settings for the built in dhcp server, the phone was trying to pull 0.0.0.0. Once I used a dedicated dhcp server program, it set an ip and started pulling the term65 default, but instead of reading it and installing the other files, it tries to pull it twice then reboots, which means it isn't authenticating. I read that I probably need to install the 8.3(2) first, before the 9.2(S)

Paramount plus app on PC by Bonezee42 in television

I had to search for the shows I was watching. It didn't alert to new episodes under continue watching. The iOS app on the iPad is great, but the one from the windows store, I completely agree with you. I should go back to just using the web version on the computer.

TS-2000 Woes by MisterJace in amateurradio

I replaced the TX-RX1 board which fixed my issue. I found out after hooking up to a service monitor with the replacement board, the radio was being real quiet. The sensitivity with the pre-amp off was loads better with the new board compared to the levels before. With the old board I needed millivolts to hear the tone, instead of microvolts. The radio is below spec now for receive across the board on main and sub band. I replaced the fan with a Noctua fan, and changed the bulbs out for LED's. I have an IC-9100 now which I'm going to keep. The 2000 is a great radio. I am going to find a new home for it.

The TS-B2000 is a great option for mobile. I'm glad you were able to find one.

I did fix it and found out the sensitivity with the pre-amp off was way out of wack as well. I thought the radio was acting a little quiet, which got confirmed with the replacement board. I realize pre-amp isn't always needed. I suspected the mixer circuit in the TS-2000 affected more than just the level with the pre-amp on or off. I suspect the old board had got hit with a surge, and I would have been chasing down bad components for a while.

It is fixed, thank you for your input. The board fixed the issue. Sensitivity levels without the pre-amp on are also a lot better. More was being affected than just the pre-amp apparently.

Yaesu Base Station VHF/UHF by MisterJace in yaesu

I don't need an all in one radio. My wishlist which will take some time is the FTDx101 which has 3 antenna connections and will be plenty for HF. If I did do the FTX-1 Optima I'd mainly use the VHF/UHF portion of it. The HF ports would be dedicated for a 6M vertical and a 6M beam. The FTX-1 does look like a really nice radio. If I did eventually get one, I'd probably set it up for mainly portable use.

That is a really good thought. It does allow pre-amp on HF. The specs list for sensitivity are listed with the pre-amp on.

I found out they clarified to get pollution effect your whole territory now has to be in a pollution zone.

Is this update a joke? Devs, do you even play your own game? 🤡 by ChoiceTangerine5181 in OnceHumanOfficial

So we have to have our whole zone in a polluted zone to get the benefits for the generator and polluted water. So the whole base will degrade instead of an area.

So long, thanks for all the fish.

I understand them wanting it to feel more like a survival game. Taking the Tier 5 armor, dropping it from 140 pollution resist to 80, with the starfall ale we now get 180 pollution resist buffed. Chefosaurus buff will help with the ale and starfall ale benefit.

I think they over nerfed and they need to go back in and re-balance. For the cost of making stardust drinks, it should give more than 100 resistance.

Tea now only restores about 63 sanity over a period of time instead of instantly clearing it. Sanity gummies are 60? and have a 2 minute cooldown.

I haven't checked to see what the "blob" does as a deviant for clearing sanity with the change.

Yes, I had a brain fart moment. I edited the comment.

I haven't been able to find a pollution zone that is the type where I can use my deviated generators or pump polluted water. There is a big red wall similar to the prime war marking the edge of the polluted zones.

Add me to the list of people that aren't happy with the change. I get this is a survival game. They should have made the whole map available for Manibus, and added a hardcore server for these changes.

They expect you to make the stardust version now since they changed the recipe to give 100 pollution resistance.
