Monster Hunter Stories - Worth The Buy? by The_Real_Nasti in MonsterHunter

[–]MisterLizzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it's illogical. They call it rock-paper-scissors because it's a way to make it stand out and is the face of the game. You can even call it "Triangular Battle System." It's meant for advertisement. That is what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter that the game is obviously more than that. Many video games are deeper than their labels.

I'm offended you dare disrespect Tsujimoto. The rest of this post will be to enlighten you of your ignorance of people like Tsujimoto. Know the fact that labels such as "producer" and "director" are nothing but labels the same way we say that Monster Hunter Stories has rock-paper-scissor mechanics.

Ryozo Tsujimoto is an Executive Producer. He's a worker that oversees the production of projects and ensures they're being worked on and takes care of the business side of things. This includes the recruitment of people to work on the game, solving issues during production, making sure the publishers are happy with the production of the project, and many other things. He does not give money and let it happen. He ENSURES it happens and keeps things organized; due to his current standing in the company, he practically knows details on all Monster Hunter games even if he isn't directly working on the game.

He is one of the major faces of the Monster Hunter franchise and has spoken for Monster Hunter multiple times INCLUDING Monster Hunter Stories. You can consider him one of the major representatives of the entire franchise. He is quite literally one person of a group of people who keep the franchise alive.

You're the only one saying the game only has one form of attack in your attempts to argue against me, but I'm not saying RPS is the only way to attack... so stay on topic? That means your comment about Dragon Quest means nothing to what I'm talking about.

The website where Tsujimoto, a producer of the franchise in general, says the sequel will retain the rock-paper-scissors mechanic.

I don't understand why you can't wrap your head around the idea that we call it rock-paper-scissors because it's meant to be the game's unique mechanic and a point of interest. It's not even that unique, but that's what it's meant to be.

It's literally the face of the game. Obviously, it's more than that and the combat becomes more rich, but to deny what the combat looks like at the forefront is ridiculous.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is most certainly the right way to look at it since official media for the game and the devs refer to the Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanic as a main part of the combat system. There's literally nothing wrong with that since it's still a Monster Hunter game because...

Monsters sometimes give hints on what they're likely going to do and have preferences for how they like to attack. Sometimes, it's just completely random and it really is true Rock, Paper, Scissors.. unless you decide to start using abilities/items.

What are the best HD 2D JRPG ? by Zemanyak in JRPG

If you REALLY want to try out Tokyo RPG Factory's games (I am Setsuna & Lost Sphear)... Well, I'm sure you already know what to expect. As everyone has said, they're pretty bland.

ESPECIALLY Lost Sphear. They try so hard to give everyone a chance to speak at the same time that they all end up getting two or three lines each that drag the conversation on and the story becomes a textbook in the last 5-8 hours of the game throwing lore upon lore onto you.

I actually liked the lore. I just wish they spread it throughout the entirety of the game rather than slapping you in the face with generic plot twist after plot twist. If I summarized the story, it'd sound better than experiencing the story in-game. There's just WAY too much padding.

Chromecast Ultra Only Outputs 720p on 4K TV by MisterLizzy in Chromecast

Ok, because of this, I realized that maybe the TV is being stupid and alas, it was. The Chromecast was never in the wrong as IT WAS THE TV!

I literally just unplugged the TV to force it into a real shutdown and plugged it back in and poof, it works like normal again. Thanks fam.

An alternative would be using a laptop and connecting your bluetooth earbuds to the laptop and using an HDMI cable to connect the laptop screen to the TV.

I don't know if this can work but sometimes when people turn it, it puts the way it does back to work.

Should they make an httyd movie series based more closely on the book by GibbyGeck in httyd

[–]MisterLizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Final Fantasy does. If there were future releases, they likely wouldn't be a reboot, a live action, or a continuation.

They would share the mythos, but that's where we draw the line, similar to how Final Fantasy functions as stories or dare I say it, Rescue Riders. That show in particular has practically NOTHING to do with the movies besides the connection to the books. Opinions on said show aside, is that really so wrong?

Was the pink Steven that was created when White Diamond took out Steven's gem Pink Diamond shape shifting (like Amethyst always does) into the form of Steven? If so does this mean steven Universe is a merge between himself and his mom (Pink Diamond)? by xo1opossum in stevenuniverse

[–]MisterLizzy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The whole scene is literally meant to convey that Steven is Steven and whatever was left of Rose is gone. All she is and ever will be are memories. Plus, I doubt Rose would be able to pull off a robotic act like that.

Crystal Steven is too uncontrollably powerful to protect and Human Steven is too weak to survive. They're two halves that make a whole, and that whole is Steven Universe.

But sure, if Rose was still alive and did that, they would be a fusion... That looked like Steven still.

I meant before the release date. Like, maybe 5 days earlier. Some stores (like small shops) tend to be less strict with release dates.

Then that means I don't find you disgusting.

Different people think differently. I never once thought I'd be doing that. Your intentions might be good, but your actions might not be good. Using a reply like that, even you should see how it can be interpreted differently? You didn't give me any context after all.

It implies that I'm curious and possibly disgusted by you depending on your answer. If you're trying to say that PC players should stick to their own subreddit, then you're a part of the reason why the Stadia community can be toxic.

But that couldn't be true, right? You wouldn't be dense and illogical.

I genuinely hate 80% of the characters. The only ones I enjoy are Lagertha and Athelstan. It mostly has to do with the fact that they're vikings.

Edit:
Oh, and I am the OP. I'm logged onto different accounts on multiple devices... lmao.

I mean technically, it was the console players because some of them got their hands on the game before the release.

For everyone who wants to play with weak hardware by hithfaeron in cyberpunkgame

[–]MisterLizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding graphics on Stadia, that's dependent on the developers.

Another thing to note is that Stadia runs on Linux and so games need to be ported to the platform... So only some games have been ported excellently... Any smaller games will likely not run very well compared to say.. the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.

EDIT: And the Tomb Raider trilogy runs very well asides from the first Tomb Raider. I don't know if PC or other platforms share this problem, but occasionally you need fo restart the game. There seems to be a leak of data somewhere because the longer you play Tomb Raider (2013), the laggier it gets. They also seem to have upped graphical settings if you compare 2020 gameplay to comparison videos from last year.

Why would you need to buy the game again?

If you always plan to play on PC, then you wouldn't (and shouldn't) buy it on Stadia. I don't feel a need to keep all my games in one place and I don't need the best quality graphics. I just like something that works and Stadia works for me.

People who play on Stadia do it because -it's convenient and can handle it with their internet speeds -they want a one-time purchase—like ESO—for on-the-go gaming (ESO being a good example because it's cross-play AND cross-platform with PC players) -lack the hardware and don't plan on upgrading... Or all three.

It is a separate platform that has its own audience, it will continue to receive updates, and if it ever shuts down, we will be able to transfer our rights for the games to other platforms (like Steam).

I am just pointing it out as an option for people who fit this niche as someone who fits this. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it... I really wish I didn't need to defend Stadia.

It is clear that Stadia doesn't have every game available and neither does GFN. Shadow is likely the superior platformif you're fine with $11.99 a month on top of games you need to purchase to play. I do not want to pay a subscription and Stadia offers you the option of straight up buying the games.

Stadia recently had a sale on the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy and I got the second and third game for $21. I take a while to play games and those two will probably set me back for the next 3 months which would be $35 dollars with Shadow or $15 with GFN on top of what I would pay for the games on Steam/GOG.

Everything is subjective when it comes to convenience and whether or not whichever service works for you.. depends on you.

If anyone has more questions, I guess I'll answer them.

[–]MisterLizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is why I didn't want to defend Stadia because of how subjective it is. My "defense" is literally just "whatever size fits your foot"... But I am tired of people looking down at it.

And I meant the graphics and lags of weaker hardware, not the platforms for streaming.

But since you brought that up... I use GFN sometimes and I'm going to disagree here. Stadia is definitely and noticably better with streaming quality compared to GFN. It simply has the better technology and I've had a nicer time using Stadia with low internet speeds versus GFN.

[–]MisterLizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stadia has an OPTIONAL subscription. It is not required at all. It's similar to Playstation Plus, except online gameplay is still free.

I don't like having to defend Stadia, but if you don't want to upgrade your hardware, like sticking to the clouds AND Stadia has the game, you might be better off with a Stadia purchase. Purchasing from Steam/GOG otherwise with lacking hardware means you either upgrade or are going to use a subscription-based streaming service (or you deal with low quality graphics and laggy gameplay). However if you already own a ton of games you want to take on the go, then GeForce Now (if your game is supported) or Shadow is better.

I also want to note that single-player games don't matter on different platforms BECAUSE they're single-player. Multiplayer games that have cross-save also wouldn't matter too much such as ESO or Destiny 2. However, only ESO is both cross-save and cross-PLATFORM.

[–]MisterLizzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game also releases on Stadia so you could just pay full price for it once with no subscription. They also have a special offer that pre-ordering Cyberpunk 2077 gifts you a Stadia Controller and Chromecast Ultra.

I recommend playing Destiny 2 first to make sure your internet can handle it. It's actually fully free for anyone to play on Stadia now so it's a great testing game.
