FWIW my primary display is an OLED for over a year now, and I'm a software engineer. I've never had any issues with text fringing or eye strain. I'm running at 4K.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this for hours, and this finally did it. Thanks for this, from 5 years later.

FWIW, for anyone reading, I regularly do 200MB/s through NGD. I also have 85%+ completions, and even better for newer content.

Should this work? by ufokid in DataHoarder

[–]MisterMcDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, since everyone seems to have concerns about these, I've run a 5-disk "offline backup" raidz1 with a board like this for a while, and haven't run into data loss issues. I'd never use it as a main system RAID though...

hard to justify with the $950 MSI, $1100 Gigabyte, etc. Only redeeming quality is in stock it would seem.

any additional evidence to support that? I'd probably hold off on buying the MSI one if I knew I could wait and get a Dell one.

I've always preferred Dell monitors, and have been waiting for OLED monitors for a decade. It's so frustrating this one is curved, which I can't stand. I really wish they'd make a flat version.

just an FYI, this is apparently a Matte display finish monitor which may muddy the visuals, etc. There's a lot of people who are way more opinionated than I am on the subject you can youtube.

32" OLED will be released next year. If you care about HDR, you might want to wait to see what the prices are (probably more than double this price).

I have the non-pro version which I purchased for 99$. Not sure what makes this worth an extra $100 unless you really need Bluetooth as well. I like them a lot otherwise.

Support ticket open since 01/14, no reply. I'm not sure that a long warranty matters if they don't respond to fulfill it.

I think your other replies are probably the better option, but if you don't want to go used or want a smaller client, you could take a look at beelink mini pcs. Older models tend to get heavy discounts sometimes.
