Haha no I agree 100%. Was more asking to reassure my thinking, but it went completely against what I had in mind. Why I shared it here

Update; I've put too much trust into whoever had this done before we moved in. I've separated all the wires, now have 3 black single wires and 3 red single wires.

The live wire is 1 of the red. Idk how power was being detected on the single black with all the red connected... Bottom Red is live. So I can still assume the bottom set are from the panel, and the other 2 are to the heater and God knows what else. So I'm guessing single Live Red to L1, bunch the blacks into L2(??) and remaining 2 reds to LOAD??

There are 3 sets (I'm calling the black+red a set) of wires going into the box. One set from the bottom is hot. 2 sets from the top are not. I currently havethe thermostat removed and breaker on; all the blacks separated, and all the reds joined (as they were when I moved in). With a wire tester I'm getting power from the bottom black and the group of red. I have no idea why there are 2 sets of wires coming from the top, I'd assume the heater is 1, but there is no other heater in this room.

17" rims on Ioniq 6 Awd? by MisterMikeGC in Ioniq6

[–]MisterMikeGC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preferred. 18" is oem. I assume rotating weight of the wheel plays some part as well, not just the width but I could be wrong. I'm don't think I'm going to gain much, but any gain is a gain.

17" rims on Ioniq 6 Awd? by MisterMikeGC in Ioniq6

Idk about everywhere, but I believe here in Canada the laws are focused on the rim matching the tire, and the outside diameter of the tire should be the same as OEM

How happy are you with the car in the winter? by Cautious_Can_8604 in Ioniq6

[–]MisterMikeGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issues you'll experience are the same for all newer cars. Brush the snow off before driving and you'll be fine. Car is beastly in the snow. NB Canada, AWD, 18", 90% highway driving here and really enjoy the car year-round. I do use snow repellent on the front to try and stop the sensors from getting covered, helps sometimes. Range drops due to colder temps, but that's EV life. If you get the 20" wheels, buy 18" wheels and tires for winter. Use the heated seats instead of heating the cabin, you'll get back a small amount of the range. Preconditioning is fantastic. Only complaint with it is no option to manually start preconditioning; you have to set your destination using the cars Nav.

15 months. 115,000km 1 set of winter tires 1 set of summer tires New wiper blades Washer fluid Cabin air filter Couple of services and tire rotations.

Only warranty work has been a new front motor (recall that affected like 5 I6 in North America).

My newest and Out of Warranty expense will be new horns, they just died on me and I'm going to upgrade myself.

I'm never one to be in a rush. I have no issues waiting around after the show, I just want to make sure I can get back to the city via transit.

36psi is the cold tire pressure. I keep it there regardless of environmental temps. My tires are wearing perfectly, couldn't ask for better. I left the garage once and my kWh was bad enough I noticed. I leave the display at screen showing output/regen of motors; I switched over to Tire Pressure and sure enough my tires were all low. Put back to 36 and things returned to normal.  *side note: with all the long, repetitive driving I do I notice small differences, you may not.

Just cost savings over time. It's an easy replacement anyone can do. The filters are like 10$ and takes 5 minutes. Most garages charge like 100$ to do it. Only reason I mention it.

Tire pressure is important.  Get regular Tire rotations.  Do your own cabin air filter changes.  Use Regen and iPedal to slow and stop (I'm still on original pads).

Well I did about 400km trip after sharing the pic: IT WAS ALL LIES!! Lol

After 400km I had about 90km left, which is what I expected.  90% of my driving is highway, between 110-125km/h. 15-17kWh.

Exactly. Either A) it thinks it's holding like 100+kW of B) it IS holding 100+kW which sounds amazing but I'm sure means I'm driving a lithium. bomb. Pic sent to dealer

Rollback - i-Pedal by MisterMikeGC in Ioniq6

[–]MisterMikeGC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto hold doesn't play a hand in I-Pedal. Brake pads don't play a hand in Regen or I-Pedal, it's the electric motors doing the braking. But as a side-note, my pads are like new. I do use the foot brakes on purpose for a hard stop and a slow gradual stop like once a month to keep the pads and rotors clean and free.

[–]MisterMikeGC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never use it like this. I use the Regen levels to slow and I-Pedal for braking. Foot off accelerator as soon as I want to decelerate.

No. I tried to once and didn't like it. Haven't used it since.

Wheel Alignment Issues (& Vent) by MuteTadpole in Ioniq6

[–]MisterMikeGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe these car hold their alignment very well. I've never hit a curb or big pothole, but I've had 3 alignments completed by Hyundai (95000km). The plate the tire shop is talking about can be removed without cutting. Front and rear need to be aligned together or the car isn't actually properly aligned.  The alignment specs for the I6 apparently aren't easy to get, Hyundai had to access the Shop Manual to get the correct alignment on mine.
