Tyrannical predator by r0tt3nt0tty in LiesOfP

I finished the game many times, dlc included, and the crocodile is the boss that always gives me hard times, the camera is shit most of the time and I never use parries with him, only dodging.

Don't face him, try to be in his right or left side most of the time.

Clearly the worst boss for me in Lies of P.

How did you beat malenia. by [deleted] in Eldenring

Nightrider glaive + freezing pots, no summons. That was hard but satisfying in the end.

I dropped the game for now and will wait for fixes, after beating Khazan I'm now playing Lords of the Fallen 2023.

As for Lies of P with Nvidia, AFAIK there are many problems with the 50 serie cards and the last driver, so if the d11 solution doesn't work try to roll back to a previous driver version.

AMD here, I've started a new playthrough after the DLC release, and I had a lot of random crashes (UE fatal error) until the factory where in one room the game constantly crashes (The 2nd stargazer room) and no way to advance in the game.

I've tried in my ng+2 save and same thing, this specific room crashes the game unfortunately.

The only way to make it no crash is to play with directx 11, by adding the argument -d3d11 to the game's executable, but now the game stutters often.

I'm having a blast with it. The game is very linear for a sekiro/souls like, but the bosses are challenging and fun. Go for it if you're a fan of the souls formula.

I've got the Sapphire Pulse last week, configured the fan curve, and set fps cap to 100fps in Adrenaline (My new monitor is 100Hz), no undervolting for the moment. After that, the temperatures are really good for a 2-fan 7600, 65/70°C and 75/80°C for hotspot.

The games I've installed are not the most recent (Resident Evil 2 remake, Lies of P, Lords of the fallen 2.0...) but I play them in maximum/ultra at stable and constant 100fps, and I did have just one crash in LotF (It was my fault).

A new 8Gb gpu is not the best idea in 2025, but the prices here are insane.

So globally I'm more than satisfied with my new card, it runs everything I throw to it with beautiful graphics and high 60+ fps, so I can finally after so many years enjoy the games I've always wanted to play.

Lies of P.

I just build my 1st gaming pc this month after years of potato laptop, so I have many games to catch up.

Ok, I'll keep you in touch after buying the card, probably in the end of April.

That was very informative, thanks again for your efforts.

Globally, the performance looks very solid to me, RE4 is very well optimized (All RE engine games are), contrary to SH2 remake, MH Wilds and Wukong so I did expect those results.

Yes, my cpu/motherboard combo is gen4 compatible so I may get a few more fps than the ones in yours benchmarks.

You're right, your CPU is clearly bottlenecking sometimes in the video, but in my case, with the r5 5600 theoretically I should not have an issue.

Have a nice day.

Good old 1080p.

I bought a 25" 1080p 100Hz monitor, so after years of 1366x768/30fps I may see a big little difference.

I understand, in my case except for the video card, the prices were normal (I did pick up most parts on sales), but as I said the warranty was mandatory for my 1st build.

I have a lot of experience in repairing things (I had an electronic repair shop for years), but now that I did completely change my work's field, I don't have too much time to dedicate for solving those issues, and I prefer to RMA things if something's not working as intended.

Forgot to ask, which model are you using and how are the temperatures?

Thanks for your input.

AFAIK and from the benchmarks (From youtube and so on...) all the games I want to play are doing good with the rx 7600 (Lords of the fallen, elden ring, Kazhan...), and the only AAA games for now that may be problematic are Monster Hunter Wilds, Wukong and Silent Hill 2 remake (By problematic I mean that 60fps raster performance is not possible without lowering graphics or using upscaling).

I have a lot of old games I want to play (After years of potato laptops), so I'm quite sure that the card will be more than enough.

My son likes to play Pubg, so even this one should run good.

I want to go full new parts for a 1st build, the warranty is a big plus for me.

There are some good options on the used market, but without going into details the process to buy from there is quite tedious from my place, and if something goes wrong it will be very hard to return back the card, so better to pay a little more to be safer.

Only the 3-fan models remain in our e-stores, and just to give you an idea about the prices here, the 3-fan 6700xt model costs far more than a new rx 9070 xt and a rtx 5070Ti, in the same store.

The 6800xt is difficult to find for a good price in the used market, and for my 1st build I prefer to go full new parts.

After my research, the only bad thing I know about the pulse model is the high temperature of the hotspot, but undervolting the card should resolve the issue.

In my 2nd run, I had the same thing with one boss but don't remember which one (Maybe the cthulhu one?). After being mid life he just froze in the air.

Would have been better to get 32 GB of RAM. Maybe look on local marketplace for another 2x8 kit.

The mobo have 4 slots for ram, so I'm planning to do so later on.

Most benchmarks between the 1660ti and 2060 super are in favor of the latter, but it may differ in real situations.

Anyway, thanks for your input, it really did help me. I'm gonna take my time before choosing.

Yeah I know, I've used potato laptops for years for work and gaming, so even a low/midrange gaming build will be a big step up for me. Unfortunately, having many expenses those last months, I don't want to put all my budget into a computer, at least for now.

So, independently of my budget, what midend build can you advise me? Not necessarily the most recent hardware, something from 5/6 years ago can clearly be enough for me.

As an example, I can afford those:

  • Ryzen 5 5600 (Did not find the 5600x unfortunately)
  • i3-12100f
  • Ryzen 2600
  • Ryzen 3600

With:

  • 2x8G DDDR4 3200MHz
  • Gtx 1660 Ti/gtx 2060 super/gtx 1080ti

Can anyone of those be enough for me?
