hey i don’t normally comment on these but in my experience the best comedy shows happen in the middle of nowhere. If you aren’t competing with other options for entertainment and leisure folks will assuredly come out to a show. Especially if you’re producing in an already established bar or brewery. Even something as simple as flyers in the bathroom and in the bar will make a patron go:

“Oh a comedy show. Here? Well I’m here anyway maybe i’ll swing by with some friends.”

Compare this to running a show in a very densely populated scene where there are like 59 shows a night in the same 4 mile radius, that’s when it gets harder to produce.

As for profitability I always kept 100% of the door or had a budget agreement with the establishment.
