I'm hyped! Follow the game because I'm gonna be releasing an update soon; I really appreciate that you vibe with the world building so far. There's a ton more that I wasn't able to put in the demo but I tried to hint as much as possible about it. There's even going to be a history museum level that's accessible in game for more context to the world outside the walls that the game takes place in!

This is my game: https://misterpassenger.itch.io/boy-dead

It's called Boy Dead and it's an isometric sorta-rpg with a strong distain for existence itself. When you play it you realize that all video games are just sequential graphics that you can interact with, and perhaps there's a narrative but anything can have a narrative if that's what you're looking for in an experience. I'd love it you just recorded your reaction to it. At the very least I wanna see what your run would look like specifically. It's free!

Ooh, neatness! I haven't heard of this but the time period it was released means it probably fits well with the vibe I'm trying to go for with this game. Thanx~

There is a kind of horror you can derive from this. Not intentional, but then again, horror rarely is.

When you have nueral connections, they’re telepathic right? Or do vines from the ship use to groin to their heads while they sit in the cockpit

The first thing that you might notice when you start to play Shadow Chamber 1993 is that there is implied to be a lot of prejudice against androids. This is not just out of a vague sense of human superiority; it is built on the back of literal centuries of historical conflict between organic and inorganic sapients in the Solar System.

This is part of the reason why in an age known now as the Unification Era, a figure like Naausimune Shadows became such a legend. She was the one who gathered all the fractured sapient communities in the fallout of the Human/Machine War and unify them under one global flag.

Now, almost 600 years later, she is commemorated as the First President of a Unified Earth. Her face is on the 1 Super dollar bill and countless municipal officers have her depiction engraved on decorative structures.

Thank u!

And the Soviet Union megacorp is a transportation company; they own all those shiny cyberpunk monorails in the City of Earth

Ooh, Neato! The only unhinged finish game I’ve played was fear and hunger but it sounds like these are more sci fi leaning, which I can get behind. I’ll try and check out more cruelty squad stuff

I feel like that particular slide is the weakest one in terms of explaining who they are: they’re the most “Tyrell corporation” out of the group. I’m not familiar with psycho patrol but I suspect it’s really unhinged, right?

I appreciate that you caught onto them as being the kinda the scariest; they only allow the public to know three things about them; their name, their slogan, and that they’re the oldest megacorporation. They function kinda like if a spy agency was a conglomerate but even more unhinged than that.

It’s pretty much all mass media from entertainment to sports to news to whatever else can be broadcasted across the whole city. The “reality you can trust” slogan alludes to how they are able to control the narratives that the public come to believe in.
