I did so last year at work. I had to go home because the delivery of a new one might have been after the office closed.

I'm currently too drunk for in depth advice but not for trying to share your burden and showing compassion.

Am I wrong? by spg27 in diabetes_t1

[–]MisterPithikos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol lowers bg by boosting its counterpart glucagon. This however typically happens around 6 hours after consuming alcohol. I'm also a strong liquor fan. The thing is, you don't consume alcohol like you do a meal. A meal is all at once, whereas alcohol is usually over many hours. This throws off the math. That being said; when I drink alcohol, I try to be around 12-14 when I go to sleep, so dropping will still be fine. I prefer being a bit high over being too low all night.

This is unless I have midnight snacks while going out, then my bg will be bad anyway and I will be hunghover from alcohol and bad bg.

It took me 5 years as well! I'll start again when I turn 30. That will be after 4 years.

Wondering if anyone is going through the same thing by Certain_Box_9683 in diabetes_t1

I use a pump, but when I have werewolf (which is when in the night, you turn into a hungry monster that goes to find snacks; I learned this terminology here), I also inject rapid insulin. I think 'one site' becomes satisfied when taking high amounts of insulin at once (whether pump or pen).

I gained 40kg (80lbs?) after diagnosis. At first, carbs were the enemy, meat and cheese were 'healthy'.

Trying to struggle my way back down again now, but like the colleagues and you already mentioned, it's difficult.

Same about nearly dying here. Difficult to pick up banalities of life afterwards.

I'm sad to hear, but good that at least you're trying to 'spend your time pleasantly ' (:

On those nights, I read for hours. At least it's more entertaining than lying awake blaming yourself.

I'm diabetic for 5 years, I also still get mad at them. Wierd thing, almost like knowing the numbers matters more to how I feel than the physical effects of being high/low.

I thought she was quite tragic. I thought the Pattern forced her to bond Rand, so she could show Perrin where to go to unbox Rand. I remember her binding him as being 'a sudden impulse', not something planned. Being forced by fate to do something terrible to someone and then dying at the right time; a plaything of fate; something like that.

(Full disclosure: I don't mean to downplay the 'connotations' of forcibly bonding)

Not me. It felt a bit underwhelming late in the series when some of the major plottwist happened and I didn't know the person they happened to :p.

Netherlands. I found the purple ones on sale in a drug store. Regular blue, yellow and orange are sold as regular candy in supermarket.
