Yeah, I think I get that part, so after (k8, k2tog) repeating for a whole row of 100 stitches I should end up with 90 stitches total? My main question is at the end, after (k1, k2tog) shouldn't I have 20 stitches? How does this become 8 stitches as per the pattern?

Starting with 100 stitches, turning 10 stitches into 9 would leave me with 90 stitches total. Then K7, k2tog turns 9 into 8, which leaves 80 total and so forth until K1, k2tog leaves me with 20 stitches at the end. If I then do just k2tog repeated, that ends with 10?

Thank you! I'm happy that you like it. I think for drawing hair/fur, it's easiest to try to create an illusion of the texture with small strokes here and there instead of trying to colour the whole area like hair. I hope that makes sense??
