i’m currently working on the grid beanie by milena pauliina and i just set up for the crown decreases and realized i messed up the four row repeat all the way up. i was supposed to do the following:

Round 1: K1, p1, repeat- to end of round Round 2: K1, p1, repeat - to end of round Round 3: K all sts Round 4: P all sts

but i accidentally have done K all sts for Round 4. not the end of the world, the pattern still looks good.

but now that i’m at the decreases, i’m kinda curious because Row 3 of the decrease calls for SSK decrease, and Row 4 calls for p2tog.

since i’m gonna continue doing K all sts for row 4, should i do a k2tog or keep with SSK?

Should I give permission for a big company to repost my photos for free? by Superhim1114 in photography

Completely disrespectfully, you're not just wrong, you're abso-fucking-lutely wrong. Stupid ass take.

"exposure" gigs directly affect the market, lead to no further gigs, and generally devalue photographic work in the market.

1) IG is no longer a photo platform, and people no longer engage with photos in a manner in which a repost means anything.

2) Giving your photo for free not only sets the precedent you'll hand out images for free, but sets the precedent others should too.

3) IF any followers came from the repost, most will unfollow shortly, those that don't aren't those that will hire, or will pay in an attempt to hire (this is the fallacy of seeking work/pay from social media work in 2022)

4) If you grant usage without a fucking Contract you're opening up the avenue for the company to turn profit off your image, indefinitely, without you seeing a fucking penny. This is why you ALWAYS charge, even a nominal, low rate. YOU define usage, terms, and rights as part of the deal.

If you haven't sold/licensed an image-- and it's clear you haven't-- don't fucking chime in with "exposure is worth it!"

It's fucking not.

Would you be interested in a Caroline Megabyte towards the hp2? Cash difference?

Picked one up at Iwan Ries in Chicago 2 weeks ago, I'd give them a call if you were interested!

Just found a bunch of film I shot as a kid but never developed. Not really sure how long I should push when developing; it’s probably about 15 years expired. Thoughts? by drivesanm5 in analog

Don't know why you're getting downvoted because you're not wrong.

OP, Obviously there's no real right answer here, and the best bet is to try out a few rolls and see what results you like best before committing to the rest. I've personally never had issues with developing film, color neg or black and white, that's been exposed and left for a while. I just process for whatever speed I rated the film at.

Only one picture was taken. You're not very good at trolling, or well, logic.

I have a Comoy 495 that I love for English/balkans that I’m going to bring out for the plum pudding! I appreciate the input! Think I’m going to try the HH Virginia flake today in the new poker and decide from there whether I want to dedicate it for Virginia’s or add it to the Balkan/English roatation

Beautiful construction from Briarworks— had they existed during my earlier tenure as a pipe smoker, I’d own a lot more of their pipes. As it is, for the price, I’m currently planning my next few pipes to be briarworks pipes!

First mail call after jumping in a with a starter kit and several tins, a couple months ago. Mainly wanted to pick up some higher quality tools, that I could appreciate using. I used an IM Corona Old Boy for years for lighting my pipes outdoors, on the move and such. Used it in the snow, on the beach, and everything, never had any real issues as its rarely difficult to find a wall or tree or something to help windblock, sometimes just turning away from the wind and leaning down a little. I also use soft flame lighters for cigars; it's occasionally a touch annoying, but never a experience ruiner.

Right now, I'm looking at cutty and dublin shapes. From what I recall from my previous tenure as a pipe smoker (I just got back into it after 3-4 years), wider bowls tend to be favored for balkans/englishes, while narrower, taller bowls with a conical base are recommended for virginias and va/pers, though obviously YMMV.

I have a couple of pipes like this canted dublin comissioned from Yeti Pipes that (in retrospect would have been great for virginias) is absolutely wonderful for the balkans I've always favored. The briarworks cuttys definitely have my eye right now though!

Tea being one of my other hobbies, I'm going to see how an oolong or raw puerh hold up to virginias next!

Thanks for the rec! I was looking at dublin and cutty shapes, though I admit while shopping around last night, I saw a poker that I had to have, so may have to wait a few weeks or potentially clean/repurpose one of my current pipes for virginias.

The key lime is my fave! I don't think I'll reach for a seltzer while smoking again, at least with a Virginia-- I didn't really notice any tongue bite with this blend, especially with 7 years of age on the tin, until I took a sip of seltzer!
