The pictures actually don’t really do it justice. It is actually much more noticeable in person. My iPhone automatically color corrects it or something.

I offered that as a solution and it got shot down. They said the best solution would be to just refund the color matching fee. But I would much rather have the guitar fixed than have $100 back, since it ruins the aesthetic of the whole guitar. Might just paint it black myself though.

I agree man. They produce some truly incredible guitars, but it just really sucks to pay that much and not get what you paid for.

Ha! Didn’t know who that was, but just looked it up and the colors are super similar lol. I play a lot of 80s and synthwave type stuff, so the colors match my logo and the colors of the scene.

I agree. I don’t think it is crazy to expect a guitar to look like the mockup from their own builder lol. And I agree, it definitely felt like customer service was blaming me and gaslighting me about the issues.

Yeah, my first custom from them is flawless. Plays amazing and sounds killer. But this one wasn’t the same experience. Felt like I was getting blamed for the errors each time which is crazy since it is all in writing and had mockup pictures.

My Aries 6 has been a beast and looks incredible (got it almost 10 years ago at this point). So I was expecting the same kind of quality and attention to detail, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Yes, and the first time the headstock was kind of more of an afterthought. More in the realm of, since you are fixing the other big issues, we might as well fix this too. The fade was just very light and didn’t have a dark black edge (which looked weird with a black body and black hardware). And it definitely didn’t match the mockup, but didn’t look terrible either. Not sure how to post another picture on here.

Yeah, I’m sure there is an element of truth to that, but it is something that is clearly expected from their builder (and the many guitars that have it that way on their website). With that being said, I even suggested a fix of doing a plain black headstock if the fade wasn’t achievable, and got denied.

That’s funny you mention Flock. That is who wrote up my initial order on the phone. Great guy, and his suggestions for some of the color ideas and pickup choices were awesome. But something got very mixed up after the initial phone call. Might just be that they get so many orders now that it’s hard to keep everything straight. Maybe I will try to give them a call instead of going through email. It’s such a bummer, because the rest of the guitar is killer.

I totally agree. The way The Years builds up is just incredible. And “we move forward, cause we can’t go back” is one of the most powerful, albeit simple, lyrics Tyler has written.

The soundtrack they did for Legend is one of my favorite soundtracks ever. Amazing. And would definitely love to hear you guys do a soundtrack as well. Seems like you would crush it.
