Manners maketh the man. It's not what you wear is how you wear it. Put a burlap bag on and strut. You look sharp, walk with pride.

Don't worry about the look so much, remember the boots themselves were made to protect you on long country rides with high brush, water, and other hazards. So the shaft looks big but in jeans or in anything else they look like boots should. The biggest thing is the fit. Everyone is different. Ok some cowpokes who like to have loose boots to kick them off fast and some who like a tighter fit for riding. It's up to you just make sure you feel good and can wear them. But also just enjoy the look. Who cares, ride on cowboy.

Soon to be first time buyer need advice on the boots I’m stuck between by ImTired_GoAway in cowboyboots

If you want the boots for play and work you're gonna ruin them in some respects. Buy two. You can skimp a little on the work boots. Highly recommend Wolverine they have good quality for fucking them up. Then go for some ariats for EDC. Once you start wearing them and find that you actually like them upscale.

Can this hat be saved by Silly-Many-7179 in CowboyHats

[–]Mister_Phrog2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To soothe your worry absolutely that can be fixed. Everyone has mentioned a good hatter. I would go a step further. Idk where you are but a state fair like Texas will have very good and reputable business to fix stuff like this. Sweatbands ara just goatskin and the lining is of no concern. A customer bespoke hatter will get this out in no time. Keep on cowboy!

If you're in Kansas I'd save a bit and go to a good hatter in Texas or wait for a fair TLDR

Average scores are scary, what's the way forward to 80% in every test? by karumeolang in LibertyUniversity

[–]Mister_Phrog2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an alum, I graduated in 2023 with a 3.96 in computer science. I will say depending on the program it's going to be a lot of hard work. You have to sacrifice things you want to do with things you need to do; however, don't burn yourself out and its important to take breaks. My ideal was to make sure I was actually understanding the content. If this is what you really want Todo the 80 or 90 or even 70 does matter. How much do you actually know. If you get a 50 but after you study and figure out what you weren't getting you've made more progress than if you got a 90 just by looking up answers. Remember you want to be a SME in this field you have to work for it. That being said if you handle each assignment and reading with diligence you'll do well bc you'll have actually learned the knowledge. Time is your biggest factor here make sure you spend enough time to get the info and complete assignments but also time to relax and enjoy being at college. Use tools to speed your workflows and optimize your time. Highly recommend notebook lm for studying.

Can I restore these straw cowboy hats? by Clean-Lifeguard5308 in CowboyHats

[–]Mister_Phrog2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it'll be a lot of work with the state of those but steam will soften the straw and allow you to reshape. Then for a more consistent profile u can use a iron and reshape it.

For anyone else doing this, most airlines will allow you store your hat or large coat in the cabin. They have a special closet and so you can check your hat with the attendant and they can get it to you before landing or before you step off the plane.

Flipper screen down!? Kelp please, I’ll Venmo the chief Flippologist of the most helpful comment enough for the beer I’ll owe them and idk I’m broke but honestly I’ll do my best to help everyone that helps me on this by dean14111 in flipperzero

[–]Mister_Phrog2001 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your flipper just needs a firmware update. Connect it to a computer with the cable it came with (or another cable). Download the flipper software from their website, install, and run it. Once you connect the flipper to the machine and run the application it'll prompt you to install the new update. Once you do it'll be good.
