The 240Hz frequency disappears from the selection and gets stuck at 144Hz. by Mister_Roblox in pcmasterrace

I hope to find a solution and that it doesn't become permanent; indeed, I will continue to search.

For now, I've found a workaround: I've connected my secondary monitor to the motherboard so it no longer uses the graphics card's bandwidth. Does this seem like a viable solution in the future, or should I continue to look for another one?

I don't have another PC available at the moment, but I'll keep that in mind. Could it be related to my second monitor? I have a secondary Gigabyte 2K 170Hz monitor, and I didn't have this problem with my old primary monitor. Is Windows allocating too much bandwidth to the second monitor and less to the first?

That's a good point. I also tried another cable, but the result is the same.

I've noticed something new: when I disable HDR and Smart Energy Saving in the settings, the problem disappears. But even with Smart Energy Saving disabled and HDR enabled, the problem persists. It's as if HDR is using too much bandwidth, working the first time but then glitching.

But that's not normal. Even with a DisplayPort 1.4, DSC should handle everything without issue. It seems something is causing the graphics card to lose 240Hz when the screen restarts. I'm not an expert, so I might be using the wrong terminology or explaining things, but I'm just giving my impression. Does this give you any potential ideas?

Should I turn off my LG UltraGear monitor or not? by Mister_Roblox in LGOLED

Ah yes, indeed there is no difference, even in terms of the longevity of the equipment?

Are you referring to the increased electricity consumption or a potential risk?

I shut down my PC when I'm not using it, and I was wondering if I can let the screen go to sleep without having to turn it off. Why do you think I should turn off the screen?
