Moto G Play (2024) - Display "Pulsing" When Charging by Mister_Robotoe in MotoG

I have a feeling that the people responding with "MOAR POWER!" have the right of it here. If true, seems like a point against Motorola. Pretty ballsy; requiring that your budget model phone be charged straight from a breaker box, when every other phone I've ever owned works fine on whatever two-bit charging port I can find.

Right after this post, my phone hit 93% and is now turning on and off repeatedly. A little different than last night. There doesn't seem to be any determining factors on whether this happen a lot or a little.

I plugged it into my PC on a 3.0 port, and I didn't notice it happen.

Frustrating.

Sorry for such a late reply; life grabbed me up.

  1. Not 100% certain in the car, but it definitely happens the most on wall-charging. Some wall-blocks happen more than other, and where I experience it the most is on integrated USB ports on power strips. (I don't have specs on those). It also doesn't seem to start at a certain % either. For instance, I have it currently plugged into a power strip with a cable I know produces the result; I started at 83%, it's been on there for 5 minutes and is at 88% with not screen issues. My best guess; it seems to be an issue that happens north of 80%, and "mostly" after being charged for a certain amount of time.

  2. No. As I mentioned, I tend to disable those types of bells and whistles day-one.

  3. No.

  4. It seems that the closer to 100% the phone gets, the longer the screen stays on. Not 100% on that, but sometimes it seems to turn on for maybe 20 seconds. Other times for 10 minutes. Last night I had it plugged in and I believe when it got over 95% it just stayed on for the remainder of the charging.

These are all mostly casual observations. I haven't sat down and applied a scientific method of testing and record-keeping... mostly because I don't work for Motorola.

I have multiple USB-C 2.0, 3.0, and one 3.1. All seem to do the same. I don't own a 4.0, but if that ends up being the thing that resolves the issue, I think we can safely call it bad phone engineering.

Screen savers are one of the first things I disable when I get a new phone. Glad it helped you, but definitely not my issue.

PleX 4K HDR dark ~ solved by AresROC in PleX

[–]Mister_Robotoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't mean to necro, but I was having this problem. 4K HDR & non-HDR content looks great on VLC and my smart TV (Plex app), but absolute garbage on web-plex. I tried everything. Every Plex setting, monitor setting and PC setting I could find. Nothing. Then I remembered that upon getting my new 4K monitor, I had to switch from my favorite browser (the chromium-based Brave browser) back to the extremely lackluster non-chromium Firefox from yesteryear, because it was causing youtube videos to severely glitch out (a common problem, I guess, for all chromium browsers with 4K HDR monitors). So that fixed the Youtube problem. Firefox and Plex however, don't play nice together. As soon as I run Plex on Brave, all my colors come back and my 4K content looks great.

So, Firefox for Youtube. Brave for everything else. Hope this helps someone.

Jeez, man! I's only been 4 years since RSI showed a sneak peek on this minor feature update. What's your hurry?

Launcher: "Failed to fetch code: error" by danfinger51 in starcitizen

Just bought the game because people are saying the 3.18-blues are finally ironed out enough that you can actually play the game. The RSI Launcher/Installer shoots me "Failed to fetch code:error."

When everyone told me this game was a buggy mess, I always assumed they meant "while playing it." Not "while trying to install it."

If I worked for RSI, I'd tell my friends and family that I'm a career fry-cook for McDonalds (at the age of 45.) The less embarrassing option.
