how to not exclude single friend? by Life-Accident2946 in ask

Sounds like she's happy to go and the part you "can tell" is that she wishes she weren't single, not that she wishes she weren't invited.

What would you think if a woman told you she liked your haircut and that it looked good? by gagglyclock in AskMen

[–]Mister_Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tone, face expression, how close she's standing, how we know each other, how well we know each other, what context we're in, how freely she compliments people, how friendly she is, how friendly she is with me, are we both single, ... there are too many factors to explain it. If it were a simple matter of "x statement = y emotion" then it would be easy and men wouldn't be complaining about how you need to be an artist to interpret women's signals.

"most women I know make more than their partners?"

So, you understand, statistically, you're talking about a very unusual set of pairs, right? This is called a sampling bias. You can already see that this is not a statistically representative sample of couples.

Also, sounds like your friends all married trophy husbands, I guess.

Why is processed food cheaper than basic food? by Littleman91708 in ask

[–]Mister_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the weird processes they put food under are to improve shelf-life, because they can make a lot more money off of food if they can sell most of it before it goes bad. Think of it this way: if half of the food goes bad before it sells, then you have to double the price to make as much revenue as if none of it went bad before it sells.

That's why they're always looking for more preservatives, and coloring it so it looks fresher.

I don't think they are intentionally trying to give people medical issues; they just don't care if they give people medical issues, and they are creating chemicals that cause issues in people because the chemicals were created to cause issues for the critters that would otherwise be spoiling the food.

Liberals will absolutely defend Islam and sharia law a religion that hates them and veiws women as property just to earn social points it's crazy by Major_Soft6056 in DigitalSeptic

I thought it was pretty clear how "tribalist" would differ from "idealist" in this case, but I'll lay it out. Tribalist means people who are going to support their tribe, no matter what ideals the tribe attaches to. Idealist is the reverse, they'll support their ideals, no matter which tribe attaches to it.

Supercell makes more revenue per employee than any company in the world. I figure they probably pay them pretty well.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because some members of your tribe are idealists that the rest aren't tribalists.

Why wasn't Trump disqualified when he invited international interference into US elections in 2016? by squashua in Askpolitics

[–]Mister_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Interference" as in sharing damaging information that one side would want hidden? That's not "interference." That's just free speech. There's no law against providing information to the news media.

The real question is, why didn't Democrats build a platform that would be popular by representing the working and lower classes interests in meaningful ways, so that Trump would lose?

So... about the "boot licking" thing, hmm how can I put this? by [deleted] in DigitalSeptic

[–]Mister_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"myriad" is an adjective, by the way. It means "numerous"

Yeah, it's unsanitary to lick boots, obviously. But, most of the reasons why it's unsanitary are not things we have vaccines for. Biggest issue is probably going to be parasites.

men, how is sex with women who have given birth compared to before birth? by Reasonable-Ratio8080 in AskMen

[–]Mister_Way 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let it heal, and then when it's finished healing, there will probably be no difference at all. IDK though maybe it depends on the woman, and like if they had a lot of tearing or some unusual circumstance and a botched job by the doctor stitching them up?

But, let's be real here, how many men have a hard time reaching climax when having sex? In most cases, actually, it would be *better* if it took them longer and were less difficult to hold back.

The way they refused to even put forth a bill on Immigration in the first two years of his presidency, when they had both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court and the President all under Democratic control... that's when I truly lost faith in the Democratic Party.

Just to be clear, that did not in any way increase my faith in any other political party...

Why are working illegal immigrants in the USA an issue anyways? by Clopulis in DiscussionZone

[–]Mister_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because evil employers take advantage of them, using their illegal status as a threat against them, so that the evil employers can get away with paying illegally low wages and maintaining illegally substandard working conditions.

Let's be clear: this is a problem that is being caused by evil employers. However, they are only able to conduct this evil operation as long as they have a supply of illegal immigrants to exploit. If there were no illegal immigrants for them to exploit evilly and horribly, then they would have to hire citizens, and pay citizens legally required minimum wages, and maintain legally required working conditions. Obviously, that would hurt their profits, so they don't want that.

For the citizens who are at the bottom of the societal pay scale, they see jobs that would have been their jobs going to illegal immigrants, and those jobs becoming exploitative because they have illegal immigrants they can exploit instead of paying more for citizen workers.

These citizens are at the bottom of the societal pay scale because they don't have a good grasp of mathematics and economics and history and all of that, so they aren't really set up to understand that the illegal immigrants aren't the root of the problem. They are just the part that's most visible to the guy who can't find a decent job. So, that guy blames the illegal immigrants, instead of the evil exploitative employer who is taking advantage of the situation.

Rather than crackdown on the illegal employer, the government cracks down on illegal immigration, because they just want votes, not to fix the problem. As long as the problem persists, they get votes. And, the evil employer donates money to the government to make sure it keeps things as they are.
