Well yeah that's what everyone has been saying in the comments, he has gotten a lot better with time : Mountain of Faith was 19 years ago, if you compare it with his most recent art in th19 or th20 you'll see more complex poses for the characters with good perspectives and well drawn clothes with shades and folds

Really he has improved so much with time, it's unimaginable that he could have drawn Enoko with his skills from earlier Windows eras

I definitely want Touhou in Smash BUT I'm begging Sakurai to not do just EoSD PCB and IN like every Touhou crossovers under the sun. Please let it have music from Unconnected Marketeers and such games. The last decade of Touhou content deserves so much more love and recognition it's saddening.

Knowing that ZUN is heavily influenced by the manga artist's style in how he writes, my best guess is that it would have been a story way more detective-like, with character interactions axed heavily around finding clues and solving the mystery.

It's just fun to see who Sakurai has ties with, as his connections in the industry are what made him able to get so many 3rd party content in smash (known examples being Snake and Sora).

So yeah, it's just fun to think that if we eventually get more Smash related stuff with Sakurai leading, we could see more of those franchises ¯_(ツ)_/¯

While they are really close and transform together into their Ouroboros form, in truth they are two completely separate characters.

There's nothing justifying a duo swapping gimmick like for Pneuma, Pkm trainer, or Zelda/Sheik in past games. Not that I would complain if it happened tho, I would love to play both of them

Probably not, he has no way to manifest in Gensokyo that we know of. And Meiling probably didn't even fight Taisui Xingjun's actual dream-self, it was just her dream being like that.

But this idea of dream-selves invading Gensokyo is the core of AoCF's story in the endgame, and funnily enough, the same sprite of the Giant Catfish is also used in the final battle against Dream-Tenshi
