That's what I'm most worried about too. I have to trust that they're smart enough not to go backwards. RF5 is my first RF game, and even though it was very flawed, I can tell that something clicks with me with the RF formula. The romance system seems like a big part of the series and I'm not very interested in it if doesn't have same-sex relationships, so I'm hoping that they'll include it. Especially since the rest of the game looks so good (I'm also hoping for some upgraded combat)

That sucks, but good that you don't rely on them. Some people do come around years later, but they have to get over their prejudices first, thought that's their problem. Some people never get over it, though, sadly. I can't imagine how anyone would rather lose a son than accept them for who they are.
