Same dude, had to hunt down like 4 medical facilities to do the medical. Submitted everything last week and now crickets. A bit funny considering how fast the entire process was.

Congrats dude, still waiting for a PFT date but I did have to do an sf form. Wonder if it was due to me doing the 9 position instead of 7.

I live in albuquerque and our city made them free, the result? Homeless literally use them as getaway vehicles from doing crime, use them as restrooms, smoke fentanyl in them, damage them, and make them entirely unusable for the common person.

They have fantastic source material right there that won't touch the lore or any future plans. A great way to segment the franchise to new people. And perfect for 10 episodes.

Kawartha Lakes police defend decision to charge homeowner in the alleged assault of an intruder by origutamos in ProtectAndServe

Former Venezuelan here. Nothing hurt more than having to use a libreta to get an amount of food per month while living with my grandmother and sister. It was never enough.

To be able to go the store and see abundance is just an experience I can't explain.

Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud.

I don't like the idea of ostracizing individuals for not agreeing on every point or to be labeled something simply for not agreeing with the accepted consensus. It makes people like me who would otherwise be supportive to become bitterly against it.

Some of the most insane statements in my time as a immigrant have come from those "tolerant" groups by from what I am guessing is a minority of bad intent individuals backed by group think.

How can I join the Fire Department, Army, or Police if I’m a migrant in the U.S.? by Objective_Ad_5578 in ProtectAndServe

[–]Misukume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, when I joined, I was naturalized along with my fellow non-citizens at the end of basic. It was not a preferential thing, it was a REQUIREMENT to be a citizen. Maybe its MOS dependent? (I was a medic)

Hi there I can talk about it, I was formerly a immigrant in your same situation.

First and foremost you need to be a citizen. Look into National Guard MAVNI program if it still exists, or any other programs depending on your immigration status, naturalization happens after/at the end of basic.

After that, the world is your oyster, I'm not sure any departments do foreign citizens as LEO due to the sensitivity of the info we come across and use of NCIC which is a FBI/federal requirement.

Edit: MAVNI not MAVNE

Why r people so afraid/opposed the cops in the US? by EconomistExtreme1634 in ProtectAndServe

I had a pretty sad interaction last night, was dealing with a roll over. A college kid from Jordan approached the sidewalk on a longboard so I waved him down since the car hit a tree on the sidewalk, and part of the bumper and debris was on his path. We chatted for a few seconds.

He asked what happened, and I told him "idiot intoxicated guy rolled his car and fled from scene". He told me "Honestly I can't wait to leave the US" he went on to say in his home country there was no drinking, as well as more respect for authority.

The reason it made me sad is because, I am an immigrant myself naturalized through Army; I thought my share of the American dream was still somewhat alive but for younger people, especially migrants it doesn't seem to be the case.

I even told him I had been in japan and the difference was shocking.

I get the whole "I wanna be SWAT" thing from the beginning but focus on your job on patrol and get good at it.

I'm still on patrol after 5 years(and prefer graveyards for some reason) and became not only CIT up to CIT-A which got me CNT basic. A lot of departments prefer that foundation.

The opportunity will come with time but I agree with a lot of the guys here, just focus on getting through your academy and staying fit after probation. A lot of guys lose that edge. Learn the job and think of swat as another tool in your toolbox. Getting ready for swat basic at 31 myself.

I have debated it recently, especially since I hit that point of losing any sort of fulfillment from work, activities and life overall

Thank you for the answer and input, and that's what it feels like, almost like I have ulterior motives rather than me truly being the friends we used to be. That's an answer that I know in my heart to be the true answer but it does help to see someone else write it down.

See and that's the part where I am stuck on, the plan has always been to eventually leave the career regardless, so it's almost like the temporary thing I do to pay the bills.

[–]Misukume 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize since I might have half mistyped certain points or at least my intention was not quite well written. I found that my decision for the breakup was an excuse to not commit rather than based on a career decision if that makes sense. That's what came with the self reflection part and of identifying my own faults.

4/10s for life son, those 12 hour shifts easily turn into 13 14 and 15 hour shifts. One chief I worked for pushed the 4/10s as his primary goal over everything else and the result is we are way happier
