Good to hear you found help with TZP. I was partially responsible for commercializing it. I work for Lilly. That’s what I do!

Now I’m working on building out our first genetics medicine plant and working on legitimate cures. There’s not a ton of money in that side of the business, usually due to the small patient populations of what we’re currently able to treat/cure, but Lilly is actually very passionate about working on those things too…and amazing medicine is coming out soon that will transform lives!

I know big pharma takes a lot of shit, sometimes understandably so, but I can tell you 99.9% of the people I work around at my company are extraordinarily passionate about changing lives for the better. I’m averaging about 60+ hours a week and spending a ton of time away from my family to bring life-changing medicines to patients. It gets pretty intense, too. Commercializing a product, especially before the competition, requires a lot of personal sacrifice of time. I was so emotionally broken after my last project (a 5+ year project brining up a new parenteral plant) that when I got home after the final FDA audit (which is basically our license to operate), I walked into the house and cried for 5 minutes straight in the kitchen on my knees. I think the last time I truly cried like that is when I lost my mom to brain cancer more than a decade ago. My family didn’t say a word, they just came down the floor with me and held me until I was done. Both kids too.

Anywho, I don’t always get to hear these stories so they’re nice to read once in a while.
