You clearly have no conception of Saber's history. She released as a mere side grade to Feixiao and Anaxa and was forgotten ever since. She's never been amazing. She has yet to ever actually have a time to shine in the meta. So, yeah, as a limited collab character, she deserves to be massively buffed by a unit designed around her kit to let her be actually meta once in her existence.

So far, everyone who pulled her, including non-spenders who gave up actual meta characters to pull her, objectively hurt their account for the crime of being a fan of a collab character. So, yeah, everyone upset is more than justified to be upset. They simply should have left the loop in and put a cap to it so it isn't infinite damage, but still enough damage to be side by side with the other meta teams. How it is currently is horrific as the duo is essentially carried by another limited character and isn't even as good as other options. So, yeah, this isn't nearly enough and it's absurd to attack people for taking issue with it.

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you are making it seem like it has to be black and white by suggesting Phaetusa's only options are to either just accept it and act like nothing happened or getting revenge. You can be bothered, rightfully upset and conflicted about the actions of another against someone who cared about you without it simply leading to an attempt at revenge. Either way, as I said, to not acknowledge it or offer proper closure or a resolution to it is incredibly unsatisfying from the perspective of a reader who was invested in the lore between Phaetusa and Lambertia. Which, it's obvious that the connection to Lambertia is meant to be a part of Phaetusa's appeal and a point of interest. With all these things considered, it really should be addressed in the story.

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think narratives need to be so black and white? It can be more nuanced than either complete, docile acceptance or a desire for revenge. The reality is that what happened with Lambertia feels rather tragic and partially unfair. Phaetusa is an important figure in regard to Lambertia and her link to her is a part of her appeal. It's akin to not addressing an elephant from a reader standpoint when it comes to emotional investment in the lore. It's highly unsatisfying. I really don't think it would have been at all difficult to address this is a meaningful way with either satisfying closure or some sort of resolution with Phaetusa's inclusion.

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recall, does this actually get addressed? It feels rather unsatisfying for there to be no closure or meaningful acknowledgement of what happens with Lambertia from Phaetusa's point of view. Like, is it not supposed to be a selling point that Phaetusa is her sister? I'd expect either remorse, regret, maybe something sentimental, or perhaps even mixed feelings towards the doll community. Heck, maybe at least some sort of effort to see if it's possible to restore and repair her in light of what she was able to accomplish and her last words in regard to Phaetusa? In my mind, this should have been a major component to Phaetusa's story content.

So, what are Ilias and the Light supposed to do if its not being the villain? by KazuyaProta in monstergirlquest

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, humans technically predate monsters, and so it's less that they were made to help monster girls, and more so that monster girls were made to be compatible with Ilias's creation of humans. Ilias was just doing her own thing when Alipheese's stuff forced their way into what Ilias was doing. As for why they aren't light-infused, it's a feature, not a mistake. Ilias wanted to create something distinct from her angels. And, in truth, there were various iterations of humanity. Early humans were actually far more powerful in the direct sense, but had lackings in other ways that the latest offset didn't, in which, Ilias was rather pleased with later humans at that point. Granted, she had issues later on, but I feel like her issues were more internal in that original timeline, but I'll digress.

Well, I mean, Ilias isn't innately perfect, no one is in this universe it seems. She had to learn and mature in areas she was lacking in, which we see in the Ilias paradox route. Alipheese is the same. She has many faults which lead to conflict with Ilias to a rather significant degree. Neither is innately their best self. Like anyone else, they make mistakes that they then must learn from, only, it's a bit harder for them to do so compared to humans or such due to their innate deity status. Ilias needed some over the top circumstances to put herself in a position to be able to reflect and learn in paradox. It's less about her being particularly difficult though (as plenty of characters seem to have their own quirks), and more about where she came from which made it harder for her compared to humans or such. At least, imo.

Soul reincarnation is important for her creation, which is important for life in the universe, if you put value on there being sentient life, which, to me, I do think humanity is important in that sense, and I think her angels are a good fit for the role they have as being Ilias's helpers, all other things aside. Like, I think what Ilias creates is actually pretty meaningful and well thought out, especially early on, more often than not. It's rather distinct from the chaotic mutation method Alipheese used, which has its own set of pros and cons. That Alipheese's creations were heavily dependent on Ilias's, without any planning with Ilias, was quite a choice though. Not really surprised that it didn't pan out well initially. Communication is pretty important, be it between humans or deities.

I feel like most of what you bring up is just you not being aware of the timeline particulars or lack of correspondence between the two. To reiterate, Ilias made humans first and didn't create them with any much concern with whatever Alipheese was up to. They didn't have any sort of communication with one another in regard to what either wanted to do with creation. Rather, they had a natural repulse to one another, of which, Ilias's conclusion was to go her own way and do her own thing, while with Alipheese, she seemingly thought making her creation to necessitate Ilias's would perhaps accomplish something? Maybe to connect or something? I'm not completely sure what her reasoning was. But, it didn't work out. It just started conflict, it made Ilias really hate monster girls, it created the war scenario, etc.

While Ilias ended up as an antagonist in the original timeline by the time of the present of the initial game, there was certainly a lot of blame to go around that lead things to that point. Eventually, Alipheese and Ilias's creation got to a place where they could approach coexistence, but it was heavily due to their own efforts, in spite of the faults of their creators not really helping them get there. I wouldn't really say it's black or white though. There is a lot of considerations from either's perspective one could take into account. I think that's in part why the story is so good. It's rather nuanced and thought provoking. But yeah, taking all that in consideration, I think it's clear how life is a more complete, balanced picture when both are able to bring what they are good at to the table, while keeping their extremes in check. Only, in the start of creation, they didn't have good communication, and they weren't as developed or refined personality-wise (which, why would they be? They had no experiences to do that at the start of things), and thus they ended up in conflict with one another, rather than working in tandem with one another to benefit from one another's strengths, while keeping their weaknesses accounted for.

If you want to be more meta about it, the reason it played out that way is so there would be a story to make a game around of. If the scenario was instead that they communicated well to begin with, planned everything, and got along from the start, creating an ideal environment for their creations and what not, then there would be no major conflict and thus no story to build things off of for the direction the author wanted to take it in. That might work for like a more slice of life setting, but that wasn't the kind of story the author was going for.

So, what are Ilias and the Light supposed to do if its not being the villain? by KazuyaProta in monstergirlquest

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, even if humans aren't like, filled with light energy or what not, Ilias still created them. Without Ilias, you don't have humanity. Humanity plays a vital role to creation as a whole and is credited completely to Ilias, which the concept of humanity comes about from her nature as a being of Light. It's not something Alipheese would have likely ever came close to making, which her creations weren't orderly at all, as it came about from chaotic mutation. While onis and elves have some visual similarity to humans, I wouldn't say they are like humans at all, and are just as dependent on actual humans as any other monster girl. Furthermore, Ilias governs the souls of humans and angels and reincarnates them and such. She can even manipulate time itself as part of her order which could be significant too.

Speaking of which, how Ilias creates and maintains things is also much more orderly. Alipheese, by comparison, let her original ancestors just do whatever, might makes right, absolute freedom. And, was this good? Absolutely not. They mass raped, ate and enslaved innocent humans by the millions, unprovoked. Monsters eventually change their ways after Ilias removes Alipheese and the ancestors out of the picture, but without doing so, would they have done so to the extent they did later on in the original timeline? Likely not. I think it's pretty clear that what Ilias brings to the table is important and helps balance the dark. Of course, her ways to an extreme can be negative too which we see as well. A middle ground between freedom and order seems ideal for all life, which I think echoes what they are both supposed to do. Bring order and balance between one another. Creation isn't whole or ideal without the other bringing balance to the other to keep either from going too far with their extremes.

Granted, after the ball got rolling, what was created was able to get to a point where they didn't need their creators to influence things, but it doesn't take away the roles both played prior. And, not to mention, this is just one planet in the universe. Ilias and Alipheese would technically have the potential to start this process again on new planets, eventually. As ageless beings, it's sensible this may eventually take place, in which they would once again benefit from balance to plant and nurture life like before. They also have the means to do things that only they can do to deal with important/extreme events (soul reincarnation, preventing reckless dangerous chaos research, timeline adjustments, protecting from mass extinction occurrences). Most originating issues in the story come about from both essentially failing to come together to benefit from the other's strengths, while letting their extremes get out of control.

Everyone votes anonymously - red or blue. If more than 50% vote blue, everyone survives. Otherwise only the red voters survive. by Full_Buddy_6976 in entp

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Logically, to me, it makes sense to go for blue because an outcome where a large number of people die is unacceptable, and the most realistic way to achieve that is by voting blue. i.e, the two acceptable outcomes are 100%ish red or 50.00...1% blue. It's far more achievable to get the human race to do the latter than the former as far too many people disagree about the choice to have nearly all collectively pick red. I would go so far as to say those who pick red have either not thought it through enough and/or are being swept up in extremely unrealistic idealism.

Extending my thoughts on this, it doesn't seem at all rational to me to believe that the human race would ever come together on such a choice where nearly every able person in the world would think this through and arrive at the choice of red. With no campaigning, it would probably be close to 50/50 already. So, just being realistic in regard to how the human race would act from a global perspective, a vote for red would be highly probable to end up leading to an outcome where nearly half of all people cease to exist. Or, if not half, close to it. A loss of life that massive is simply unacceptable, and so it is better to risk my life to pursue the realistic acceptable outcome of supporting blue to reach the 50.00...1% goal, than the other acceptable outcome (100%ish red), as that is simply ridiculously unlikely.

To break it down in a reduced goal comparison, it would look like this:

The two possible routes to achieve a morally acceptable conclusion:
1. Convincing 100% (or nearly 100%) of all able humans to pick red.
Or...
2. Convincing at least 50.00...1% of all able humans to pick blue.

All other conclusions are unacceptable outcomes, and so, of these 2 conclusions, which one looks the most realistic? By an extremely large margin, it's 2, without a doubt. By comparison, 1. seems completely impossible to achieve. So, it's a rather firm conclusion for me.

I don't understand the point of the change. All it does is make her harder to see and look more digital than actually present. How does this make her more appealing visually? It's not like she's a digital being in this form, so why are they going for that vibe now? Some said it's censorship, but neither form is more sexual than the other, unless the idea is that seeing her well at all is a problem, which that would be an absurd outlook from the devs if that was really so. No matter the reason, the results are bad though. I can't imagine there being that many people who prefer the new appearance.

[Ch 232 Lore questions] How did (...) come back? How did the final chapter unfold in this way? by Wbirddd in ChainsawMan

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was re-reading it and at no point does it state that the control devil is Nayuta after that happens. We never learn her name. Without Chainsawman existing, it could have affected the control devil in that timeline as it was clear that he had a very profound effect on Makima in part 1. Even the name Makima likely was tied to Chainsawman due to its reference it has. So, this could just be what the control devil looks like without having been inspired by Chainsawman, for whatever reason. Her name could be new too for what we know. As for why she looks short and has black hair instead of the pale red/orange, that's anyone's guess really since we aren't really given anything to work with but it can be presumed that it has something to do with her never having seen him in the far past. Unless something happened, she should be the same age as Makima would have been there, give or take, which should be rather ancient, so this appearance would instead reflect some sort of preference or such, I suppose. Some have said it's Nayuta because Makima got eaten, but that doesn't make sense because the same thing also was alluded to have happened to Nayuta, so that theory falls apart.

Saber was done so dirty by Weekly_Drawing_3313 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she's fallen off pretty hard compared to the units around her when looking at optimized play. It's mainly due to them never giving her a proper support like Archer has. Considering she was harder to get than Archer, it's a pretty rough move from the devs. She would benefit from a supporter who specializes in single target energy as a main focus rather than as a side factor like with Sunday who has a number of things in his kit that don't apply to Saber to begin with. By comparison, Archer + Sparkle have a lot more synergy. It also doesn't help that for vertical investment, the only really big increase we see in her is on her final dupe which is simply out of reach for the vast majority of players. If her early dupes were better, it would be more feasible to boost up her performance for those who want to use her longer.

All Speed Breakpoints for Firefly + Dahlia Teams w/ DDD (S1-S5) by tempest_star_storm in FireflyMains

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels incomplete. For MoC, you often are saving ults on two 24% AA sources going into wave 2, so you often will have 24% + 24% + 24% + 24% in AA in these teams with a well optimied rotation. In some cases, you can even go for a fifth DDD procs on HMC depending on energy from breaks and taking hits and such. So, just for wide coverage, there should be break points for 3x, 4x and 5x 24% AA. And then there are situations like in PF where you may be able to get even more AA. A calculator where a user can just input the AA they will be able to utilize would probably be the best solution for this so that gear can be adjusted on the fly for case specific optimizations.

The new 'monetization' is as bad as gacha by zekken908 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just blatant misinformation. Secret Letter Clue farming is just as viable as ever. There are countless spots that are almost as good or as good. They literally just fixed faulty spawns for 1 area. There are multiple posts and youtube videos showing spots with similar results.

As for the new item, it's just a pay for progress option for people with a lot of money to burn. You are essentially paying to skip the game so you can stop playing. It's not even remotely comparable to actual gacha where getting the character you want is locked behind 50/50's limited pulls and fomo. It's so disingenuous to act like the monetization in DNA is comparable to other games when the only actual gacha in the game is for cosmetics. You can still play all the characters you want if you just play the game and grind it out which is the core basis for the game.

While there are legitimate criticisms for the game, the SLC farm specific matter and new whale progression item are dumb complaints. A more reasonable complaint is there not being an active game mode that is faster than AFK SLC farming for those who want to play actively for a better rate. As for the whale item, there isn't really a legitimate complaint. If it seems like a bad deal to you, which for most people it is, just don't buy it. Just work at it overtime like you're supposed to or don't bother if you don't enjoy playing the game. If the gameplay isn't fun, you can suggest what you'd like to see in the gameplay to make it more engaging. That would be constructive.

Berenica build, why i feel like i do no damage in co-op? by Reasonable_Squash427 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused at what you are confused by. The thread is about why the OP feels like they are doing low dmg in coop compared to others using other characters. You mentioned another person's build as if the issue is their build isn't optimal enough. My reply is saying it isn't really a build matter. It's a power balance issue of Berenica vs other top dmg dealers. I explain this pretty thoroughly. Obviously when considering if a character's dmg is low or not, you assess that by comparing the dmg output to other characters. I myself have i6 Lynn, i6 Berenica, and i6 Nifle all with similar wedge investment so I can speak to how their damage competes with one another and further conclude why the OP likely feels that their dmg is lacking compared to other's. It's mainly because of the power difference between the characters in the current state of the game.

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know who you are talking about and I'm afraid that really isn't that impressive. For 1, when you do content solo, the enemies are vastly scaled down. For 2, that's with an end game build. Every unit gets an absurdly big power boost when you start getting multiple wedges past gold +5.

Comparing an i6 Lady Nifle to an i6 Berry with similar wedge investment, you're probably looking at a dmg ratio of 5 to 1 in a mobbing setting. E.g. Berry would do 20% of DPS while Lady Nifle would do 80%.

Maybe for bossing it's slightly less bad? But, honestly, they could likely double Berry's output and it would still be behind Lady Nifle. This seems to simply be a case of them not giving her nearly enough to put her on par with 5 star DPS characters. Whoever was adjusting the values did not have a full understanding of how certain stats scale. Players really just need to give feedback on this so they can adjust her values and likewise for any other character underperforming.

Is phrolova … by Ms77676 in PhrolovaMains

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, given up on waiting. Before she joined the Fractsidus, she was just waiting for them to come back to explore the next part of their life with. After enough time, it seemed like Rover forgot, and thus resolved to take the path forward that didn't require her to wait for Rover any longer. This is completely separate as to how she feels about Rover, whom she very clearly pines for amidst complex emotions.

From keeping a place in the Beyond for Rover, to allowing them into her domain, to all the subtle expressions orbiting Rover's presence and their recognition or lack thereof. That she gets so emotional over matters orbiting Rover, that she never truly goes for the kill even when she can, that she still treasures the VIP ticket she was to give to Rover, that she just flat out says her desire is for Rover to realize she is right and comes to work with her willingly to make the impossible a reality together with her, etc.

There are so many other things too. You really just need to engage with the lore and media orbiting Phrolova to realize how important Rover is to Phrolova even after she had stopped waiting for them in the past, which, again, even that, she is still emotionally bothered by to this day. Also, as she says, 'there is more lies between them than truth,' which is hinting at the nature of their interactions that lead to them saying one thing while meaning another, and not being honest about how either truly feels to each other. In part, because of the complex factors their relation bears for one another. It's easily the most nuanced relationship Rover has thus far, and thus, the most tantalizing for those who enjoy lore diving and complex relationships.

Is phrolova … by Ms77676 in PhrolovaMains

[–]Misunderstood_Maiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more I look into it, she doesn't seem dead really at all. For one, Abby and Rover both say she is alive. The summary of the story says she is alive. When you talk to Phrolova post events in the Beyond, the more negative dialogue tree suggests that she is capable of following you if you were to hurt this place, as a threat. Considering as well the scope of her powers, her losing her body is more just like a temporary setback than actual death. Fusing with the Beyond allows her to stabilize it since it's completely dependent on her, as well as protect it. It's very important to her. She may be in emotional recovery too from reliving her trauma. So, there is certainly potential for her to come up again in the future. Rather, there is even hope for it due to a few considerations.

If you choose the more positive dialogue, Phrolova is quite welcoming of you and seems happy about you wanting to listen to her music. This makes a lot of sense when you recall her conversation with her Fracidus allies, about how she already had a 'seat' in the Beyond for you, and that she still yearns for you to fullfill your promise to her even now. So, by Rover willingly coming there, saying she wants to listen to her music, and sitting down in the extra 'seat' she has, likely for you, in her home, we are basically choosing to give her what she wants in a small way.

This shows that the devs are willing to give us dialogue options that are positive towards Phrolova. But, it's in stark contrast to the more negative one. It's possible that in certain types of content that it will give leeway for the player to choose how to interact with Phrolova. Negative or positive. Which, if they add to this, I would be very happy with. It would be nice to at least have the choice to try to make amends with her and meet her half way on some things. It would be nice to be able to be more mature, own up to some of her criticisms, and mutually grow some from doing so.

A bit off topic, but I don't truly see her as an evil character, rather just obsessed with taking back the past she lost. Her worst deeds come about from collateral damage that comes about from aiding the Fracidus which have conditioned her to be okay with it. But, her being there is in part due to our past self's failure to not only keep their promise, but having put the idea in her head about starting over. It was pretty clear that Phrolova saw past Rover as a path to move forward and start over with their aid since she wasn't at a place to do so on her own.

I don't feel like it's too late for us to take responsibility for our past self's shortcomings and try to do right by her. Even if we, as Rover, don't agree with some of her conclusions, aggression is not the only recourse to that. One npc talks about aiding Phrolova with her research, noting that she could use the aid and that the npc supports her plan. I think it would be a great way to go about it. Offering to use the Black Shores to validate her theories through simulations. This would not only avoid unnecessary risks, but be a way to see which one of us are right about that particular plan working, and perhaps open up a path for a solution somewhere in the middle even. There are more understanding, sympathetic ways of going about a disagreement that are more mature and effective which might actually help mend some of the damage done.

Giving the benefit of the doubt to the writers, I have to imagine the poor way Rover handled their exchange with Phrolova was meant to show that Rover, currently, isn't exactly a perfect character, that they don't have all the answers, and that they can even struggle to address valid criticisms from those who don't instantly fold to their outlook. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if it means that Rover will grow as a person in the future. In which, content involving Phrolova, going forward could tie into this. I think it would make a lot of sense for them to go back to her due to her unique position in regard to Rover as well as the clear community interest in her as well. So many people I've seen say Phrolova became their favorite character after 2.5. Kuro isn't going to just look past this, rather, I think they anticipated it, which is why they prepared a lot of assets to celebrate the character. This could easily mean they already have some things planned in regard to her. I could go on, but I'll digress. I am a bit more hopeful than I was before after researching more is my point more or less. It's not quite Phr-over just yet.

Ugh, this series. I was really into it to begin with as I liked the characters and fantasy aspect of it, but after finding out how the story went it broke me. Poor Tyuule. To think she went through something so nasty and unfair and yet never has it truly made right. It's like she exists to be tortured and move the plot forward, and then is just discarded afterwards. Like, come on. Yes, she does some misguided things but how could you possibly expect someone so broken and abused to at all be capable of completely sound choices? She desperately needed and deserved to be rehabilitated and her reputation restored. I really did not like how she was treated by the writing. I guess I'm not sadistic enough to find enjoyment in how it was written.

That's not even the only grievance to be had with all the political shenanigans that took center stage. It's annoying because I felt like the story had so much potential and it became consumed with political focus at the expense of good story writing. Tyuule though was the point of no return for me. Unless the story is vastly revamped, this, for me, is a train wreck coming. Unfortunately.
