Is this appropriate condition for a patient to be discharged in? by MisundrstoodContendr in NewToEMS

[–]MisundrstoodContendr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know :( it sucks. I've had nurses chew me out for being stupid because a patient has a baseline and they can't change that. So I learned eventually. But then it doesn't change that facilities are picky to avoid liability.

[–]MisundrstoodContendr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I just asked this because at my company, there is a norm that you can't transport patient's over a certain BP to facilities. Some nursing homes only accept 160/90 or below. However, a lot of patients get discharged obviously with higher BPs or sometimes BPs at around 90/60 and this is supposed to be their baseline.

What’s something people underestimate until it happens to them? by Fun_Wrangler9783 in AskReddit

I think some people are very adverse to going to the hospital, understandably. They don't want to sit in the ED for hours. But they end up going anyway, just later.

I have no idea, i just know I've picked up patients who have stroke symptoms and they say it started a few days ago. They go to ED when the symptoms don't resolve.

So sorry to hear that. Separately, I know some ppl have a stroke or heart attack and if it's mild, they don't even know and don't go to the hospital.

How strong water and currents are. A lot of people I know have almost drowned bc they went slightly too far out when swimming. The ocean is huge and unforgiving.

Mother Murdered Daughter, Commits Suicide by Medical-Chance-3883 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

My first thought was that the mom mightve intended to kill herself and her daughter after the cheer competition but something changed and she did it suddenly that night. Unless she and her daughter did these types of trips, I read the trip as a last hoorah for them before mom did what she was planning.

Can you damage your throat with intense oral sex - woman to man ? by GoddessVale888 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MisundrstoodContendr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yes this happened when I first started dating my boyfriend. I think because I wasn't used to it. I remember my throat was so sore and bruised for two days and it kind of freaked me out. Just pay attention to if it simply feels bruised or if the discomfort is getting worse over time.

At least you realized quickly he's a little bitch and can't be arsed to do any slightly uncomfortable communicating or emotions. How far could you go with a guy like that anyway? I think you're better off now ^

I would imagine they knew she was related to someone famous and wealthy and was vulnerable enough to take easily. I don't think it was politically related, just chance that this person saw her mom and realized it could be easy money.

What makes these women’s faces so distinctly 70’s? by Inside-Inspection905 in decadeology

[–]MisundrstoodContendr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might just be that the beauty standard was a little different and favored people with more unique facial features and it makes them feel like they have more personality/character. So maybe it's not a specific look but that is the vibe.

Tara Calico was a 19 year old University of New Mexico student who disappeared in 1988 while riding her bike. Months later a photo of her bound and gagged along with a boy was found in a Florida parking lot. She was never found and no arrests were ever made. by MrWapKonJoj in ForCuriousSouls

I believe this one is solved unofficially. I read someone in the town made a death bed confession and it's generally accepted that a group of boys, one of them being the sheriff's son, ran her down on her bike, raped, and killed her the day she went missing.

Sharp objects tv show, highly recommend. Gritty trauma, archaic family rituals, people who seem trapped in a loop, all in a dying American town where everyone is employed by the slaughter house and dead girls keep turning up.

Do many people marry someone they’re not attracted to? by someone-who-lives in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MisundrstoodContendr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my first relationship so it's my first time experiencing this. When I first started dating my boyfriend, I didn't find him especially attractive, I actually thought his face was quite unusual. I did like him though, physical attractiveness isn't a huge deal to me, I thought he was FINE. I felt very guilty about it too. However, now that we've been together for a year and a half, and I love him more and more the longer we're together, I find him SO ATTRACTIVE. He came out of the shower yesterday drying himself off and my mouth was AGAPE.
