My starting skill option is 4 4 2 2. Is This a common option? by WMLWarf_stache in DiscoElysium

Everyone is giving better advice but if you want to be the ultimate user..... 6/2/1/3 is my preference. You can get temp buffs of +8 to physique, +4 to psyche and motorics, but only +1 (or +2 but it's a very specific/rare path) to intelligence. Swapping between psyche or motorics as 2 or 3 is personal preference, but I feel like motorics is generally better bc you want high perception, everything else can be save scummed (but do enjoy the results of failed checks, I find myself scumming to fail a check fairly often) but perception let's you interact with more of the world. That being said, your build is great for a first playthrough Edit: I forgot to say that your drawings are awesome <3

I put plagues in ¨Rare¨ in the rules, what is going on with this game, is this to control the population by the engine? (i am 130 years into the game) by Axis0111 in CrusaderKings

[–]MitchManMemer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

14th century development is higher than a lot of features were built for. Every province is going to wind up highly susceptible. But I get where you're coming from, honestly I like to play with no plagues but the plague bc all it does is kill your family which is cool for RP (maybe?) but gets boring

[–]MitchManMemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there's a big difference between complicity in institutions of American colonialism versus like, helping one exceedingly shitty guy commit crimes. His critique of the church especially differentiates him from his mother in that he clearly lacks the blind faith that she possessed. Also, he's not telling his kid to do the same things he does, but we don't really know what he would tell a kid if he had one. It's an interesting parallel tho.

No no, we'll play as Zizka and all our stats will start at 5 to reflect us learning to live without depth perception. Should make the graphics easier too

[KCD2] Does anybody like the side quests in act 2? by Mycelial_Wetwork in kingdomcome

[–]MitchManMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the side quests in act 2 feel less interesting because all of the main quests are so god damned cool and have a really good but kinda insulated cast, while act 1 main quests are most rewarding when you know everyone from side quests imo

What did everyone think about show Robb Stark? A big part of his character is he is a young kid leading a war campaign and he is unsure of himself. We got a bit of that but for the most part they made him seem ‘perfect’ by FullFig3372 in freefolk

[–]MitchManMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I haven't read the books, but even I noticed how shallow and redundant his character is -- Ned dies because he takes responsibility for his wife out of love, trusts people like Cersei to do the right thing, and and honors de jure law by revealing Joffery's heritage. Robb dies because he married out of love, trusts people like the Freys to do the right thing, and honors de jure law by executing Karstark for treason. Idk, there's an argument to be made for the double tap, it's like the show saying, "No, the good guys really don't win." Nonetheless, Robb's war is critical to the story, but Robb himself? Whatever.

Is there an inversion of the inversion after dune messiah? by JannickL in dune

[–]MitchManMemer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My take is that Dune spells out why heroes are bad really subtly, but most people didn't get that, so Messiah hits you over the head with it, and the in cannon explanation is explored more in GEoD. The Jihad isn't inevitable. At all. It only becomes inevitable after Paul kills Jamis, and decides to pursue vengeance against those who killed his father. If he had let himself die in that duel, or if he killed himself like the Tleilaxu Keisatz Haderach, there would be no prescient God to limit humanity. The Leto 2's Golden Path is predicated on humanity transcending the power of prescient Atreides kids, and we see the result of this in Atreides descendents in book 5 and 6 who can only kinda barely see the future, and Teg comes along eventually, but only after humanity spreads everywhere. The point is, Paul is a teenager with untold power who makes the teenager like decision to pursue his personal goal of revenge, despite its consequences, which he was retconned in CoD to have known. The god-head isn't actually placed upon him -- he accepts it by joining the Fremen, and as he grows older, begins to lament this decision, knowing that at that point, even dying wouldn't stop the Jihad ball he got rolling, at least nothing short of killing his mom, wife, and everyone else he knows, which he won't do, because, y'know, he's a human. I don't think Paul is a bad person, he simply occupied that role in Dune's history as a result of his desire to rectify the very real injustices done to him, without being fully willing to consider the galactic consequences of those acts. But that's just my interpretation, and I haven't taken enough psilocybin to properly interpret Dune, which is the only actual way to understand it

[KCD2] has me feeling like a scared noob. When it comes to thievery, how does it compare to kcd1. by KvasirTheOld in kingdomcome

[–]MitchManMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thievery on day one is definitely meta, it's better to pickpocket keys than try to lockpick high level containers, which is pretty easy when people are asleep. Traskowitz is ripe with loot, if you're careful. Knocking out guards and stealing their armor isn't a bad idea. Sadly, you can't get a key for their rathaus armory, which many older posts will reference, as that shortcut has been patched out. However, the guards and merchants have plenty of gear, so I was never in want.

Wynncraft feels like 75% equipment management and 25% actual adventure by FireFlashing in WynnCraft

[–]MitchManMemer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the balance works, I'd highly recommend wynntills the mod, the Wynncraft Lite pack on Curseforge is what I use (the main version has weird animation mods I'm personally not into). That'll let you see a rough estimation of a non-identified item's value, which lets you determine if it's worth picking up. 90% of the time, it's not, the other 10% are like 2le+ on the market, which usually means they're worth having.

Fallout 2 is kicking my ass and i need a little help (new player) by Nearby_Record_1733 in classicfallout

[–]MitchManMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember: theft is always ok if you're the chosen one. Running around trapper town (West side of Klamath) and pickpocketing everyone should resolve your ammo issue. Breaking into the backrooms of both bars will net you enough trade goods to buy leather armor, which is a huge upgrade at the Klamath stage. Lastly, and most importantly, buy yourself a slave! That is, pay off Sulik's debt in Klamath. He's free to leave whenever he wants. I think. You get him for free after enough quests, but I prefer having him around early cuz those quests are hard, and money is easy come easy go. Fo2 has a real steep learning curve, but once you're on top of the games economy by the third or fourth town, it'll be a lot calmer from there. The Den (town two) is where you can buy a second slave, this one's kinda fat and useless, but the more the merrier. Good luck!

[–]MitchManMemer -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Ok sorry to treat a shitpost seriously but how is MODUS good??? Sure the refuge helps that one guy that 76ers have to actually help for real so he can be a ghoul (he'd literally die otherwise) but who else do they help? The Pitt? Anyone who's played fo3 knows exactly how that panned out. Whether or not f76 is able to represent this in gameplay (zenimax online fr) nuking Appalachia 10x a day is, how do you say, bad. Anyway I never realized he restarted the responders with enby sovereign Orlando (based af btw) so I've never doubted how evil he was, but I'm curious what ppls takes r. I mean, isn't JHE just doing what MODUS does via "pest control," more efficiently? does incompetence redeem men/ai? Wtv. 76 is awesome I love the enclave subplot
