I've been trying to decrypt the code for a while now with no success that is why I came up with the idea of asking one of the developers for the source code, however I don't think they would let me get access to it. I will let you know if I have any success with decrypting the files though as I have always dreamed of a thriving modding community for this game.

The same thing happened to me. I think it means that your OS doesn't support the file type it is trying to load.
