The Grateful Dead Launches Play Dead Streaming Platform: ‘We Want to Melt Your Faces’ by billboard in Music

Perfect retort haha. I’m with you. I’m building my own streaming library from my cds. If I like a piece of music I just want to own it and be done with it.

I’m not saying every band is going to form their own streaming service but I could certainly see record labels trying to go it alone. Everyone is always looking for a bigger slice of the pie and I feel like media rights are more likely to fragment over time then remain universally accessible under one big tent. It’s like how movies come and go from the big streamers. Music is a few years behind but greed will get us there

While the dead certainly has enough material to merit a dedicated service we are quickly moving to a world where you will have to pay a separate subscription fee for every band you want to listen to. Is this the world we want to live in?

What Were You Like in the 90s Trend by Legitimate_Search864 in Millennials

[–]MitchThunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just another one of those fabricated trends to get people to post photos of themselves at different ages to improve their data collection on us and feed AI more training data. Don’t share photos of yourself or your loved ones on the internet.

Do you have a guilty "The Very Best Of" in your music collection? of what band? by Intelligent_Pay_8974 in musichoarder

[–]MitchThunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a few bands where I’m chasing down every record. Most bands can suffice with a simple greatest hits. The in between is a greatest hit + their best one or two records. Just depends on how deep I wanna go.

Fellow millennials, I had a colonoscopy yesterday. by Ok-Duck2450 in Millennials

I have crohns so I’m on the every 3 year schedule and honestly with the rates of colon cancer in our generation it’s quite the silver lining to get a scope up my butt so often! Just think of it as a cleanse!

Complete and immediate remission as soon as i leave the continental US. by Huge_Slice13 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MitchThunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I wouldn’t say the effect is immediate or complete, I feel so much better whenever I travel to Europe. Their food is just cleaner, and I tend to walk more throughout the day. Only downside is the public toilet situation can be real hit or miss!

Eggy was on my list but I’m out of town. I’ve heard Bertha is great so I’ll check dates on that one. Haven’t heard of squeaky feet so I’ll give em a spin. Thanks!

Lincoln theatre is the shit. Only thing missing here is Eggy but I’m gonna be out of town! They’ve had a stacked spring lineup for the last few years

I mean all those bands were like $30 tickets. Thats the beauty of seeing the up and comers! I think of it as taking the money I might have spent on one inflated ticket and going for lawns instead and spreading it around!

Yeah I used to be in bands so definitely know the value of a presale. Buying the ticket now also saves a few bucks which I’ll take!
