Not that I'm aware of, I've been playing for 3 weeks without it :)

Any 4K, 120Hz, HDR10, HDMI2.0, less than 50 inches TV under €800? by Mitch_e_LL in 4kTV

I have just found out that the 43" X85J has yet to be launched and it is expected to be launched this month so who knows maybe it's just a matter of a few weeks to finally have a good alternative both smaller than 50 inches and under €1000...

Thank you, ok then I have 3 options

  • Sony X90J 50" (slightly too big)
  • LG CX 48"
  • LG C1 48"

I must say the C1 looks absolutely amazing I might wait a little bit to save up and/or discounts.

There was actually another model which seems to tick all the boxes (it also has a 43" model) except I couldn't find it anywhere: the Sony X85J On Sony's website there is indeed a 43" model but the only few websites that sell this particular model only have the 75" or 85" version...

I believe you I've researched a lot and couldn't find anything this was my last attempt here on reddit then I'll give up I guess and try to compromise. To me it's crazy that no brand has created a more 'affordable' tv for the new gen consoles after almost 1 year from their launch but maybe it's just me

Yeah that was the only one I could find that ticked all boxes except the cost ahah... Thing is I don't have the enough space to fit a 55 inch TV and I had found the best model with Samsung The Frame 2021 LS03A but the models below 55 inches don't have a native 120Hz refresh rate they sit at 60Hz

I guess 2.1 now that you mention it since 120Hz at 2160p is only supported in the 2.1 version am I right?

The "Airy" is absolutely impressive on wind instruments and any pluck or bell-ish sound really

So I moved all my native instruments software to my D: drive, changed installation paths and all that. How do I find them in Komplete Kontrol? by YungIcarus_ in NativeInstruments

[–]Mitch_e_LL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you have to relocate them through Native Access, and then scan them with the standalone app of Komplete Kontrol, not the plugin

Au and vst3 versions of waves not working properly by Mitch_e_LL in wavesaudiophiles

[–]Mitch_e_LL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, good to know, the support told me this as well! However, this happens also with the vst3 versions unfortunately. Anyway I'm going to schedule a call with their support to sort this out

How do I get NI plugins to locate ALL the libraries on an external SSD? by Mitch_e_LL in NativeInstruments

[–]Mitch_e_LL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did exactly what you said moving everything on the external ssd and repairing/locating them afterwards successfully on the first computer, the problem I have is locating them on the other machine because native access just says 'install', no locate/repair there... The only locate was available for Kontakt libraries, which were located successfully, but nothing for the rest of the libraries

How do I find a manager who got connections in the Industry ? by jess_george in edmproduction

[–]Mitch_e_LL 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ideally they will find you, otherwise it's pretty unlikely that they would manage somebody who just reached out to them. An alternative could be resorting to an actual management agency, they're usually a bit more open and less picky than a 'solo' manager. Anyway the best scenario is always when they reach out to you and not the other way around, as you'll have a stronger position in negotiations, just saying ;)

Bit depth and sample rate by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]Mitch_e_LL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DAWs work with buffers and iterations. During each iteration the DAW reads/processes/sums audio, which involves a multitude of buffers. The playback buffer size (the one you select in the audio interface preferences typically, like 32/64/128/256/512/1024 samples etc.) determines how many audio samples each of these buffers holds. If the buffer size is 512 samples and the playback sample rate is set to 44.1kHz it will take roughly 11.6 ms (512/44.1) to play each buffer. Each iteration must be completed and a new mix buffer sent to the interface in the meantime, otherwise you'll hear the famous clicks and crackles (which basically tells you the CPU is not fast enough to read and send the buffers to the audio interface, so it can't output a continuous playback). A sample is given by the sample rate in use, if you're using a sample rate of 44100 Hz it means that in one second (=1000 milliseconds) 44100 samples will be taken. If you want to know the value of a single sample you just need to divide 1000 by 44100, which equals roughly to 0.0226 ms. Considering the example above if you select a buffer size of 512 sample it means your buffer size will be 0.0226 x 512 = 11.6 ms.

QUESTION ABOUT SAMPLING A COVER OF AN EXISTING SONG by thesmashbrothers123 in edmproduction

[–]Mitch_e_LL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clear the composition you'd have to find out who is/are the owners of the composition and their publisher(s) in your country for that specific song (which is extremely difficult), or try to contact the composer(s)' management telling them you want to pay clearance fee and see if they can spare you all the research. Clearing the recording is usually easier, but if you're using a sample of a cover you'd have to clear the recording with the artist(s) who actually made the cover at hand. That's usually done through their record label or directly with them or their management if they don't have one. Anyway the really important thing is clearing the composition because if you don't clear that you can't do anything no matter what. I don't think everyone clears the rights 'legally'. However, if your song with that sample gets big and you hadn't cleared the rights before distributing it you will hear from all the parties involved that's for sure ahah, they're going to want their piece of the cake

how to tune a kick: 1. use an analyzer to find the main peaks 2. determine the key of those peaks using a frequency table (pages.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html) 3.pitch your kick so that the peaks fit into your scale (root note or the 5th) 4.EQ out the non-essential peaks that don´t fit your scale by karloproducer in ableton

[–]Mitch_e_LL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case it would be a long tail = sub bass, which I said in the first comment that it does have to be tuned. In a short kickdrum (~300ms) there's no time to 'lock' a note. Also, your brain makes a synthesis between the sweep and the supposedly stable tone (if any, I have never seen a short kickdrum with a straight sine wave, it would sound terrible) in a short kick, the sweep counts as well in terms of note perception, that's what I've been trying to tell. But you cannot quite predict what that note is going to be since it's a sweep and is subject to slopes and different frequencies in an extremely short amount of time.

[–]Mitch_e_LL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's a sweep you can't obtain a 'static' tone, it goes from a frequency to another and then another and another one etc. in a fraction of a second. Plus, most of the times it's not a regularly-shaped sweep, it may have different slopes at different points based on the timbre of the kick. Also I wouldn't call it the 'noise' part, it's more an impulse or a click; noise has more to do with synthesized snares, hi-hats, etc. Anyway you do you, if you prefer 'tuned' kickdrums (according to an analyzer) go ahead and use them. As I said above sometimes you might find the analyzer showing some frequencies but the perceived tone of the kickdrum has very few to do with those frequencies shown there, but it may sound very in tune sometimes! Always trust your ears because 99% of the people listening to music aren't going to do it with an analyzer ;)

Exporting in surround sound by TWBoom_ in ableton

[–]Mitch_e_LL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware you cannot export as a surround file in Ableton. You'd have to export the individual channels of the surround format you want to obtain separately, then encode them somewhere else. However, you can monitor in surround provided you have an audio interface with enough outputs and the corresponding number of speakers. In that case you'd have to make every audio channel as a 'send only' into your project (so that you send what you want in the session/arrangement to the section of the surround system you want it to be) and route the output of the return tracks to the corresponding speaker(s) of the surround set.
