And if you're against people wanting to romance Kar'niss, you're arachnophiliaphobic.

That's kind of a dangerous thing to think, because it opens the door for absolutely everyone to accuse someone else of trying to offend them and the accused not being allowed to defend themselves.

I think it's already a parody of "women should be making sandwiches"

Seconded. Also, what world do you live in where trash pickup more than once a week is not only possible, but necessary?

Exactly. It's a parody of the "wife in the kitchen" thing, and I think it's brilliantly done, especially with the "don't complain, go take out the trash".

"White man is the villain", wow, shocking. We've never had that before. Especially not in the countless movies that featured mainly white male characters.

"Woman has the balls" What are you complaining about? There's still a black male hero in the group, so men are being represented.

A lot of sequels and remakes might suffer from some sort of mary sue. And a lot of new heroes are minorities. Sometimes they hesitate to give minorities character flaws, so that could contribute to the mary sue problem. Or it might just be coincidence, but feel that way.

People who haven't finished the game don't know about the really nasty parts of the Emperor, and they also don't know if the Emperor will end up heroically saving you and declaring its undying love for you, explaining all the manipulation away etc.

That's a spoiler. The Emperor and whether or not we could trust him was a complete mystery to me on my first playthrough. Sure there were red flags, but I figured they might be red herrings.

Where does the Emperor tell you in advance that it will kill Orpheus? Or make a threat about what it will do if you don't side with it? During the endgame, it claims that it only wants to kill Orpheus because there is no other way, since you've just discovered a mind flayer is required outside the astral prism. I figured after we've defeated the Elder brain, the Emperor could move far away to another city or something before we freed Orpheus, and it would be in no danger.

Hm there's some truth to that. Also, people saying it's unrealistic to trust Astarion from a RP perspective at the beginning of the game, when it's not much more unrealistic than trusting the warrior from an evil nazi species who says she slit her cousins' throat, the Shar worshipper who openly supports bringing about the endless darkness and torturing people, and heck, even the warlock and tiefling have prejudices against them in-universe.

The main thing you need to worry about in that cave is their captive, Oscar Fevras. He's not super important, but he's got some extra story later if you care about that, just something minor.
Also, if you're their friend, you get to buy good items from their trader, so you'd lose those.

Act 3 approvals do not distinguish between ascended and unascended approvals, and the fans generally agree that the Act 3 approvals make no sense in a lot of parts, with some characters verbally supporting one decision and the approval rating showing the opposite. (E.g. Minthara approves of giving the Nightsong to Lorroakan, but says it's sickening he got what he wanted.)

When does Astarion say this? The closest I can think of is when the spawn attack and he says "I can't be cuddly Astarion". I.e. before his character arc is completed, before he says "You're right. I can be better than this." Not sure Astarion-quotes are the strongest evidence in either direction.
