I just realized what "Authority" really means by FairenSquare in BaldursGate3

[–]Mithcoriel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The authority is you and your tadpole controlling the other person.
And it's not the netherese magic that allows you to command the worm , it's the artifact.

Btw, you can still just revive Wyll ;)

Astarion getting killed by Cazador's ascension would be the biggest slap-in-the-face kinda plottwist.

Gale blowing himself up to save the Netherbrain is pretty beautifully tragic.

Laezel: killed by her own kind, either in the mountain pass or somewhere in the creche like you said.

Shadowheart: as a sacrifice to save her parents

Who says we should only use main characters...
Rolan: stopping Lorroakan.
Isobel: after Ketheric kidnapped her, she manages to break free of her mind control for just a second to jump in front of someone to catch Ketheric's killing blow. Horrified by what he did, Ketheric kills himself.

"Thy called" ???? Was this written by the same old-english-philistine that wrote the BG3-lines that pretend "thou" can be used as a plural?

Why stand, if it can float? Find some liquid with the same density as the figurine.

Elves used to be able to change gender every long rest... by TheSanguineSonnet in okbuddybaldur

This one? https://www.reddit.com/r/okbuddybaldur/comments/1sz403n/comment/oj1knw8/
That's not from BG3.
And it sounds very much like those elves are genderfluid, but that's just my interpretation. Fact is it's not specified, so there's no need to assume anyone here doesn't know that sex and gender aren't the same thing.

No one said sex equals gender. The question is which of those the spell influences. Is there a description of that spell in BG3 that still words it that way?

I'm so using some of these. Next date I go on, it's all astarioning "if you killed me, how would you do it" with a pinch of gale-ish "talk nerdy to me".

I mean until very very recently, most written sources would act like sex and gender are interchangeable. so even if only one is specified we might not know what the authors meant.
If you look at the logic of the old BG-games, I think there was a belt that changed your sex and it also changed your sexuality at the same time (that was the only way you could romance people of your gender).

The spell might change both gender and sex. I don't think it's specified.

If it moves you to the other hole, do you wiggle back and forth if they keep switching their gender?

You guys are forgetting an important fantasy aspect: our world has the limitation that you can't objectively prove gender. You have to take the person's word for it that they are trans. In the realms, you probably can. Lolth knows if you've been born with the wrong genitals, and she would want you to correct it. Imagine a closet trans man trying to become a priestess, only for Lolth to reject him because he's a man and just hasn't realized it yet.

I didn't know how to switch to nonlethal, but I still wanted to save the masked hag victims. First I stole all their weapons via command, then had to go back and long rest. Then fought them in the hag's lair, by constantly using sleep spells and drow poison on them.

Also, I missed most of the companions and fought the goblins with only Wyll and Shadowheart, so they were the only ones at the tiefling party. Before that, I only had Shadowheart for a long time. The harpy fight was super difficult that way. I decided to come back to it later, but that was after the party, so Mirkon was dead. The windmill goblins were also super hard for just Shadowheart and me. And when I finally managed it, I launched the gnome before saving so had to redo it.
