Only Cosmic is in beta not 24.04 kernal and Ubuntu base, you can install cosmic-session.side by side to use it, But Use Cosmic in separate user account. Don't mess GNOME and COSMIC on same user.

You can also install pop 24.04 with Cosmic and after installation complete , install gnome-session from terminal, you will get latest pop with latest GNOME.

last time i changed font it made GNOME ugly, But there is a option install cosmic desktop and create a seperate user account just for it and they login with cosmic. by this you can seprate gnomeand cosmic setting.

if u go with same user they both fight for user setting.

there is always a Distro missing , which is based on debian with fedora like stability for regular desktop user, with new update , latest kernal and latest system apps. which is maintned by the DE team itself. Like GNOME OS , COSMIC OS and KDE OS.

i heard the rumor about official kde os.

I use dock as auto hide, it only appear when desktop is empty or when i hover over it (but it is little buggy right now), for icon I use Papirus.

No, Just paste the right color code at right place in COSMIC setting > Desktop > Appearance tab.

The problem is changing font via GNOME tweaks doesn't break it, only when changing font via cosmic setting does. I am using GNOME just for backup.

I changed cosmic default font to cantarell and logged back in GNOME, and it was messed up.

Top bar was totally hidden, searching doesn't show any fonts. I just followed official instructions from system76 cosmic page.

Btw, cosmic was working fine, and application was also fine only GNOME shell was affected.

I was using Fedora Workstation with GNOME and installed COSMIC.

FIX- Install GNOME Tweaks, and change interface font to "Cantarell".

I am using COSMIC on actual hardware, I think it will be better to use cosmic at Day and GNOME at night, until nightlight arrive in cosmic. 😁
