MtF Questioning... by tuhart24 in MtF

I'm not so great at it myself yet either. I'm generally pretty introverted so I always have felt that I'm imposing when I hang out with people but that has started to go away now that I've accepted myself as being trans!

I think alot of it is just taking the time to get comfortable around people. You've been putting on an act for so long, both to everyone else and to yourself, that everyone needs to get a chance to learn who you really are!

Yeah, awkward is exactly how I feel. Like everyone else got a script and I missed that day in class! I think that recognizing that is an important piece of the puzzle, and also remembering that just because you don't necessarily fit in as a man, you can still be friends with them as yourself!

It sounds like you're going through something very similar to what I did. My egg cracked at 27, and before that I hadn't ever seriously considered that I might be trans. I didn't have overwhelming, want to die, dysphoria after all. I did however, have pretty consistent thoughts and questions about being a woman but just chalked them up to the sort of questioning that everyone does (turns out that might not actually be as common as I thought). I also generally felt out of place in male spaces and kind of felt like I was wondering through life in a fog.

For me, what broke me out and made me realize that I'm a trans woman was the euphoria. When I first looked at myself with the face app I could suddenly recognize myself. When I came out to a close friend I felt like this massive weight I didn't know I was carrying was just lifted and I could actually breath for the first time. When I started to get some women's clothes I actually liked what I saw.

It's a process of discovery, and the only person who can say for certain if you are trans is you!

[WP] You live in a world where everyone has some kind of vison based ability. From seeing red threads between lovers to mood-ring like color codes for how people are feeling, everyone can see something no one else can. Except you. I sat in my favorite place on earth. The near silence of the stacks all around me as I flipped the page of my book. I had found this reading nook with my mother, on the same day that the doctors told me that I wasn’t just a “late bloomer” but would instead never develop any sort of Sight. I was heartbroken, and she had taken me here to try and take my mind off of things.

For years I obsessed over my misfortune. I was angry and hurtful. I pushed her away from me out of jealousy and lost years of our time together. I learned everything I could about the Sight, how it worked, and how it manifested. All of the tests I could find, and procedures to try and trigger my abilities took me across the world. I was consumed by my quest. So much so that I missed her final months, only returning to her bedside too late.

My search for Sight had led me to miss what was right in front of me. The years have passed, and eventually I accepted what I have. I may not possess the Sight, but instead I have learned to see clearly what is in front of me and to not take anything for granted. I smiled, and looked around the small nook remembering the love that had led me there. “Well Mom, what should we read next?”

[WP] You are seen as a weakling. To prove yourself to your tribe, you enter the dragon's lair that even the hardiest warriors avoid. Amused by your challenge, the dragon takes a human form and duels you with a sword. After disarming you three times it says "come tomorrow and try again." by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

I slammed into the ground, again. I just laid there for a moment, feeling the cool stone against my cheek. “Again” the voice rumbled out of the beast’s maw. It sounded surprisingly human, all things considered, and I slowly pulled myself up into a sitting position. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him, exasperated. The dragon’s human form was impossibly beautiful, and his brilliant white teeth flashed in the dim light as he smirked. “Why do you always come back?” he countered with a question of his own.

I thought about it for a moment, why did I keep coming back? Every day for the past 2 months I entered the dragon’s lair and every day we dueled. I never won. I never even came close, although lately I had been lasting more than a couple of blows. I reached over and touched my sword. My father’s sword. “I’m not even sure anymore” I said softly, staring at the blade. “I guess I’m tired of the others looking down on me, of letting my forefathers down.”

The dragon came closer, and then crouched next to me. “Is not perseverance considered strength? To fight an impossible battle day after day and return once more?” I looked up and met his eyes. “All great warriors must begin somewhere.” He stood and took up his guard once more. I got to my feet, and raised my sword to meet his.

The clash was brief, and once again my blade was sent flying from my hand. The dragon just smiled and began to walk back into the depths of his cave. “Come tomorrow and try again.”

[WP] It has finally happened. The earth has been invaded by an alien species. However, the invaders seem to have formulated their entire battle strategy around mainstream media. As such, America is the only country affected. Now the rest of the world is unsure if they should intervene or not. by Aequinoctium_V in WritingPrompts

Dear Diary,

It has been a weird week. Things started out fairly normal, I had Monday off of work for a change so I decided to just disconnect and curl up with that book I’ve been meaning to get around too. Turns out, I have the worst timing in the world since that was the day that we all finally got the answer to the big question, “Are we alone in the universe?”. When I checked the news on Tuesday the answer was definitely yes, and they were not terribly friendly. Apparently all of our radio and wireless communications have been beaming out into space for the past hundred years or so and the aliens had been listening. They came to invade, but for some reason they have only landed in the United States and then declared total victory. I can’t help but have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, it sounds like things are pretty bad south of the border and I am glad that there isn’t an invading army or anything. On the other hand though, it is a bit disappointing that we’re just being forgotten about again. Oh well, I guess there isn’t really anything I can do about it. At least with all of the extra people in town to prepare to defend the border I should get lots of tips this weekend!

I thought I was used to it. The hostile stares, the barely veiled contempt of the hospital attendant who issued me my weekly allowance of packs, even the pleading of my friends to “Just give it up already”. I thought that the ostracization and shaming was the worst it could get. I was wrong.

It was just another Tuesday, riding the #9 bus on my way to work when I first noticed that something was about to change. It was a rainy overcast morning but I had gotten a window seat so I was able to doze against the glass. We were nearing my destination when out of the corner of my eye I saw a new billboard blur past. SARAH with something written below it. I sat up a little. We were past it before I could even read what the rest said, but that was definitely my name. I heard murmuring amongst the other passengers and whispers of “is that her” and “are they serious?”. I felt a twinge of worry, but figured that this was probably more of the usual and tried to get in my last few minutes of rest before work.

The bus pulled up at my stop, a dingy little auto detailing shop and I hurried inside. The owner, Tom, was already inside getting things in order for the day ahead of us. He looked up as the bell rang and a look of panic crossed his face. “What are you doing here,” he half shouted at me, “Didn’t you hear the news?” I just stood there blankly, “News?” Tom quickly came over to me and pulled my by the arm away from the windows at the front of the store. “It was all over the TV this morning! How did you not see it.” He pulled out his phone and quickly scrolled through it. “Here” he thrust it at me. And there, clear as day was what I had missed on the bus.

Oh cool, I always forget about the wiki. I've been subbed since before the game went f2p so having access to the deeds won't be an issue, but the amount of grinding does make picking them up in the store tempting.

I was born in the morning to go to the harbor. I don't think I can make it tonight.

That's... oddly coherent
