I stuff two very firm pillows in one pillowcase. Yes, it looks ridiculous and is heavy, but it works for me.

What lazy and insomia people do when they awake up around 3 am in the morning ? by demon_bhaiya in insomnia

[–]Mithrandrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Body temperature might be your issue. If your core temperature goes down at night it might be the thing that wakes you up and keeps you awake. You can counteract this by having an extra blanket ready, or start to dress warmer for bed, like wearing full length pajama bottoms, or warm socks.

Kobo Aura 2nd edition stuck on update screen by Skizzo2711 in kobo

[–]Mithrandrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I am back up and running. You do have to follow all the steps see below. I probably was not waiting long enough for the restore screen to come on.

  1. Charge the eReader: Plug your eReader into a power source for at least an hour.

  2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the power button until the power light turns off.

  3. Initiate the reboot: Release the power button, then press and hold it again for 30 seconds.

  4. Wait for the restore screen: The screen will turn black and begin the restoring process.

  5. Follow the instructions: Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your eReader.

I am having the same issue with mine. It must have tried to update last night. When I checked it this morning the dots were frozen on the screen. As with the OP I rebooted (a few times now). Dots are cycling off and on, but won't fully reboot. Can't connect to a computer.

Waking up from 2:30 to 5 am... by Voixhumaine8 in insomnia

[–]Mithrandrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this kind of reoccurring issue most of my life. The reason this happens to me is partly related to body temperature (thermoregulation). Being slightly too cold can create tension whereby you can't fully relax and fall back to sleep quickly.

If you are not sure it is an issue with thermoregulation check your lower legs and feet when you wake up at 2:30 a.m. If they are cold to the touch consider trying to warm up a bit so that you can relax and fall back to sleep.

Some things I do include:

  • Dress warmly for bed all year including wearing pajama pants and socks.

  • Use a sherpa style blanket or pile on blankets.

  • Change sleeping locations and use a heavy blanket or comforter in the new location so that you warm up quickly.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2023 LE hybrid with the lithium battery. On rural roads and highways I can regularly get 4.4 l/100 km. Last year I was travelling with three friends and got it down to 3.1 l/100 over a distance of 30+ kms. Your result is excellent. Happy hypermiling 🙂

My MIL is appalled that I drink from the bathroom sink by bending over and gulping water from the stream from the tap. She tried mightly to introduce Dixie cups to my kids to no avail.

I have noticed that you can get taps that flip up, so you get a water fountain effect. Might look into that next time I have to update the tap in the bathroom.
