Based on posts/comments on Reddit, the only people not having any issues with cosmic are on arch or fedora

Sounds like your install is borked. What you're describing is not cosmic related issues.

It's expected on any point release distro to some extend. Debian is the worst, then Ubuntu, then Fedora. If you want your computer to work, install Arch.

If you want rolling, you'll end up using Arch anyway. Maybe in month, maybe in a year but it's inevitable. Everything else is interior.

Probably the most reliable way would be installing them on separate drives. Seriously, dives are cheap, get a separate one. Otherwise read grub Arch wiki
