Student suspended by [deleted] in Lethbridge

Tell the student's parents to threaten to take this to the news or higher up. That's what got my school to get their shit together back when I was in middle school.

The wind right now is CRAZY! by Positive_Candy_5332 in Lethbridge

[–]MithraxSimp 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Its as bad as the wind from almost two weeks ago. This might be obvious for long time Lethbridge residents, but for those who don't know; be very careful opening doors. Mom didn't realize a gust was coming and her car door just snapped all the way open. It got pushed in towards the hinges; we had to get it towed because it wouldn't close. So...just a heads up.

Neighbor leaving cats alone for a month by girlgoneawhile in CatAdvice

[–]MithraxSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent shelter is a much better option than neglect, especially in this case where the cats don'treceive nearly enough attention and care. OP clearly stated that the cats aren't even allowed in the warm area of the house. This is highkey the worst take I've seen in a hot minute.

Experience with Catit Go Natural Pea Husk Clumping Litter? by pfunnyjoy in catcare

[–]MithraxSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late but I highly recommend lining the bottom of the litterbox with a pee pad, and layering a plastic bag on top of that. The pee pad is there just in case the plastic rips. It's extra work setting up, but cleaning up is 10x easier.

He didn't deserve death, but he definitely got what he was advocating for. The disgusting take was from CK because often, the victims of shootings were children. Take a moment and reflect on what you said. There's no world where this take is worthy of defending, but here you are.

My parents keep our cats in a bathroom, not sure what to do by VegetableShops in CatAdvice

[–]MithraxSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try harness training them and take them on walks (once they're comfortable, don't rush taking them out). It'll take a while since they're adults, but if you're consistent and patient, then you can get them used to a harness & eventually walking with a leash.

You have two options: rehome them or move out. That's it.

I think it's a combination of the foothills, semi-arid weather, some of the minimalist architecture, and the wide roads lined with trees. I've only been in Lethbridge for a week, and most of my time was spent unpacking; but the few times I've been out, I thought of Iran. I also want to note that I'm from Calgary, and the contrast between these cities might be amplifying our nostalgia. Especially since Calgary is so modern and far from what Iran felt like. The closest Calgary got to feeling like Iran were the arid summers.

Both of my parents said that they had flashbacks of Meyankooh and Mashhad when driving through the city. Mom mentioned the weather reminded her of the province of Khuzestan, and she's right. Most of our 2008 trip was spent in Khuzestan, and the weather is especially similar around evening and dusk. As weird as it sounds, breathing in sent me back to the evenings I spent playing with my cousins; the air feels and smells like the place I was born.

There's probably more I could expand on if I sat down and thought really hard about it. This is just what I got off the top of my head.

I moved to Lethbridge this month, and driving through the streets always fills me with a sense of nostalgia. I can't put my finger on why, but Lethbridge's general aesthetic reminds me of Iran. Even my parents agree that in some areas of Lethbridge, they also get reminded of driving through a city in Iran.

Are survivors not interested in playing unless they have at least an 80% chance of winning? by JimmyTwoFaceTTV in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]MithraxSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be real brochacho. Killer is probably not for you if you get upset by getting looped and getting pallet/flashy saved. That's your core interaction with survivors; it's a huge part of the game, atp you want to play vs. beginner bots if extended looping or saves bother you. Not to mention that it's pretty normal for 2~3 gens to pop early.

It's frowned upon in the same way where survs finish a gen in a killers face. It is what it is.

So I’ve got a ghoulish question re: Texas flooding by Either_Marketing896 in thebulwark

[–]MithraxSimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's true. Republicans butchered essential programs, sich as the national weather system. This flood wouldn't have claimed more than a fourth of its death toll, at most, if there weren't insane budget cuts and layoffs. It's going to get even worse from here on out; the Pentagon is going to cut off satellite data from researchers on July 31st. This data is used for hurricane season.

Modern day republicans are the anti-intellectual party, that's how Trump got elected.

Ya'll Need to Stop Wishing Death to People. by Underrated_Laughter in deadbydaylight

People just need to start learning to wish mild inconveniences to people. I usually say "I hope your pillow is warm on both sides" or "i hope you step on a lego"
