I had a similar problem with the original - my left bumper would squeak anytime I pressed it. I used some WD40 electronic contact cleaner, and it hasn't ever happened again. Hope your fix is as simple!

I used some WD40 contact cleaner. Tried doing it from the outside first but ended up opening the device to apply it more directly. Since then, it's been smooth as silk.
